Hmm, whatever that means, I don’t think this is what I meant. I tried to join his livestream to ask him, but the connection keeps crashing.

It baffles me that this thing still has no legato mode... Am I really the only user that misses this feature? I mean pretty much every synth and midi generator has this.

I never could gel with Chordjam, this looks way better. And you know it's going to be developed well into the future so it'll be an instabuy for me.

Turn up the note duration and then turn on legato in your synth. Or am I not understanding the issue?Dr.Gunjah wrote: Wed Sep 25, 2024 7:32 pm It baffles me that this thing still has no legato mode... Am I really the only user that misses this feature? Now that you mention it, per line note duration would be cool.

It's not about output notes, but the notes I feed into harmony bloom. I simply want to add or remove notes to the currently played chord seemlessly. But if I do not hold any notes, the sequence should start from the beginning on the next played note. This is often the standard behaviour in builtin arps.

Hello everyone, apologies for not being active in the forum these past days. I received an email from enCiphered, and it seems there are a few questions that still need to be answered:
“Oh wow, this looks exactly like Chordjam, but without the sequencer, which I never use. Unfortunately, Audiomodern overlooked the most crucial feature in Chordjam: the ability to use and play your own chords. In other words, I play some chords or play back a chord progression MIDI file sitting on my track, and Chordjam generates the velocity, inversions, timing, delay, or any other adjustable settings you can choose from the interface. It's so frustrating that while you can click and select chords and scales from a list, the software doesn't recognize chords played on the keyboard! If this new plugin from Mario allows live chord input, I will buy it instantly. Otherwise, it's just another version of Chordjam or am I missing something?”
I think I should start by providing some context:
The original idea for Chordjam comes from a project I created years ago, available on my Gumroad in Max for Live format. There's a free version and a paid one, but I recommend waiting for the VST/AU/STANDALONE version as I still need to update my Gumroad.
On my Gumroad, you’ll also find other projects I developed and that were later converted into VSTs, such as Random Riff Generator Pro (Riffer), Random Filter Generator Pro (Filterstep), and Random Groove Generator Pro (Playbeat). You can even download a video game I created.
At first, I only knew how to develop with Max for Live, but over time I decided to learn C++ to create my own VST/AU plugins. However, when Riffer and Playbeat were published, I wasn't part of the development process since I didn’t know C++ at that time.
That said, I worked on my own projects, and while some, like Chord Generator, never saw the light of day, others, like FGG (Filter Groove Generator), did. You can also find these on my Gumroad.
https://marionietoworld.gumroad.com/
Later, I joined Audiomodern as an independent developer, collaborating on several of their projects. You’ll find my name in the credits of many of their apps.
Now, with Harmony Bloom, I’ve decided to take full control of my work. The project has been well received, but I think an ideal addition would be a chord generator. Building on my original concept of Random Chords Generator, I’m developing a VST/AU plugin that generates chord variations every time it receives a note. I’m open to suggestions and will continue adding features as the project progresses.
I also want to clarify that I’ve informed Audiomodern about my plan to release a Chord Generator, and there are absolutely no issues with it.
My goal is to create a chord generator that’s easy, fast, and intuitive to use, and, like Harmony Bloom, fun to work with. I’ll be hosting live streams to showcase the progress of the project and how to use it.
Although I don’t expect the “live chord input” feature to be available in the first version, it’s something I’m definitely considering for future updates.
“It baffles me that this thing still has no legato mode... Am I really the only user that misses this feature? I mean pretty much every synth and midi generator has this.”
This is a fairly common request, and I'm already brainstorming new ways to generate and control sequences in HB.
Lastly, Uncle E, I see your question about the packs has been resolved. If not, please let me know and we can go over it. Oh, and thanks for sharing the live stream video!
Best regards!

Sounds good, Mario. Looking forward to checking out your latest lives with the new device. So it sounds like HB and CG will play nicely together.

Thanks a lot, guys! By the way, I'll be creating live music now using the new version of Harmony Bloom 1.3.2 (Dev Version). I'll also be live testing Chord Generator. If you feel like dropping by, I'll leave the link here.

That's great! I had no idea you were involved with those products. Now I see it on your About page.
Does anyone know of a plugin chainer that can load Midi FX? I've tried DDMF, Blue Cat Audio, Waves, etc. and none seem to do it.

Eric,
Do you mean the Cakewalk MFX?
If so I know of no modular plugin such a Bidule to be able to host MFX.
If you mean Midi fx of the VSTi style then all the modular plugins such a Bidule would host them.
