Are you using any of these mixers for panning? I keep landing back at x-pan if I don’t use CVilization.
I don't do much panning in the synth. It tends to limit my options in terms of panning when I'm mixing a track. I do have an X-Pan but I use it more for the crossfaders than for the panning.

When I do panning inside the synth, it's more to split a signal between two parallel signal paths, and for that, I usually use something like the Happy Nerding Dual Xfade. With it's normalled connections, it can act as a single panner, same is true of Doepfer A134-2. This way I don't use up a mixer just for sending/modulating a signal to two different channels.
Yes. Crossfading and just playing around with mixes on-the-fly are great reasons to have a physical mixer. Is there a module that does DJ style filter + crossfades? I also heard someone makes a switchable mult.
Kobol Expander & Pamela will arrive in the next couple days and then I will consider next step.

Last week I bought a Sherman Filterbank 2 rack.

I’m trying learn it. Feature wise it’s not too much complex, but the way the modules (filters, adsr, lfo…) and the controls are connected requires some learning; also the front panel has a MS-20esque vibe to me (it seems to make things harder than what they are). For example, I find it hard to tell if I’m using the ADSR or the envelope follower from the graphics on the front panel. Same for the LFO waveform. I have to learn the actual positions.

But I knew what I was buying. And I love the sound.
Maybe at first I wasn’t fully sure about my purchase (it’s quite different from, let’s say, a Moog filter… and I have two MF-101 for reference…), but as soon as I started running a drum machine through it, I understood why I need the Sherman Filterbank. It’s different than anything else I own.
free multisamples (last upd: 22th May 2021).

I vote with my wallet.

doepfer do a xfade. make noise do rosie, which can be used as a manual xfade with other useful things (a stereo output, it has a send/return).
but search on modular grid under cross fade as function, im sure theres many. 8)

The Kobol Expander arrived today and I have been going through what Starski Carr did here:

Love it :hyper:

A "cheap" 2nd-hand Boss rc-505 mk2 is waiting to be picked up today and an Akai MPK261 is on it's way.
Was planning to splurge out on a flagship hardware synth, but went for a couple of vsti instead.
Think I'm done for a while, but was tempted by a cheap Solton MS40 unit today... I'm a sucker for old desktop versions of arranger keyboards.

I had suggested this to falkTX: create a special build of Cardinal that only includes Meta Module compatible modules.

Unlikely to happen any time soon though, would welcome anyone to do this of course.

Have they fixed the Thump sound on it in a Firmware update?
I bought it when it was released but Quickly sold it because of that annoying thump sound.

It sounded awesome but the Thump is something I hate hearing on any synth and it was impossible to get rid of it on my unit.

Found a Video of Starsky Discovering the Thump Around 20 minutes into the Video.

Didn't notice, but the synth is not normal at all. I found ways to make it sound like a broken machine. I don't understand the functions of what I did yesterday but it reminded me of the Pearl syncussion in its blooping and zipping.
Years ago I burrowed an old Juno 60 and only sampled the weirdest sounds it could make so...
I plan on using and abusing it.

I finished assembling the last module on Thursday and the case arrived yesterday. I've already got soooo many patch ideas!
