Here's a short tutorial on using the fingerpicking generator and custom patterns.

First, load the chord track with the fingerpicking generator.

Here's how fingerpicking chord relates to custom pattern string numbers:
Fingerstyle Chord 6th string.png
Here, the 6th string is C3.

Fingerstyle Chord 5th string.png
The 5th string is E3

Fingerstyle Chord 4th string.png
The 4th string is G3

Fingerstyle Chord 3rd string.png
The 3rd string is C4.

Fingerstyle Chord 2nd string.png
The 2nd string is E4.

Here's the fingerstyle chord interpretation:

Without inputting any pattern in the custom pattern, the fingerstyle chord will play as is — according to the rhythm pattern under the rhythm tab.

The custom pattern play works this way:

Introducing space between each string numbers will arpeggiate the strings separately.

e.g. 6 5 4 3 2 will begin to arpeggiate with the 6th string down to the 2nd string according to the rhythm under the rhythm tab.

Leaving no space between the strings will play the strings together.

e.g. 65 4 3 2
The 6th and 5th strings will be strummed together and the rest will be arpeggiated.

e.g. 65432
In this case, all the strings will be strummed together.

This way, you can create interesting patterns. Furthermore, use rhythms from the rhythm browser to enhance the play.

I am providing demo projects for your reference.

Note: Since the fingerstyle generator works on a 5-note chord algorithm, inputting the 1st string number doesn't work.

I am going to post the issues and suggestions for improvement in fingerstyle pattern play in the upcoming post — soon!
