Thank you very much for your answers.
I have a question about the installation for the trial period.
I would like to install Roland Cloud on a test machine before installing it on my machine reserved for music.
My first question
Can I install for the 30-day trial on a machine (test) and if it suits me, install the Roland Cloud on my main machine?
This way if I am not satisfied I do not do an installation on my machine dedicated to music.
If I install the trial version, will I have to uninstall it from the first PC to install it on my second PC (main machine)?
Or, can I install the Roland Cloud again on my final machine (second installations)?
There will be no problem if for the test a machine and if good for me, I install the version with ultimate subscription on my main machine?
Is the Roland Cloud Manager and the Ultimate subscription in its entirety compatible with Windows 11 Home?

I got both Zenology, XV-5080 and D-50. But to my ears, the same patches in zenology don't sound as good as in XV or D-50.
And yes it not cool how roland split XV and JV, Juno-60 and 106, into separate products, while each Korg's plug-in instrument comes with all the expansions.
Korg would have released XV-5080 with all the SRX and SRJV expansions
[/quote]
CORRECT! the JV, XV, D50, many others, DO NOT SOUND RIGHT inside Zenology. The only thing I can think of is that the Plug Out Versions have all the FX that the original stand alone hardware did and the Zen versions of them were not well thought out in regard to the FX.
I spent a lot of time A/B ing XV sound Vs. the Zen versions and the XV is far better than the expansion inside Zenology. Did Roland actually think that no one would notice the difference? Sometimes the FX make all the difference in how a patch sounds.

Happy to answer them! You are able to install and run Roland Cloud on up to 5 devices total from your account. So no need to install or uninstall from one to the other in order to move machines, you can have them on both.Trancer wrote: Wed Sep 25, 2024 9:09 pm Thank you very much for your answers.

I think they still need to authorize every 30 days. I don’t know if they check your IP address.jamcat wrote: Wed Sep 25, 2024 10:08 pm What if you take one of those computers out of the house?
Can you still run your Roland Cloud plugins?

Yes you can! If I understand what you're asking correctly, as long as you have connected to the internet at least once within 30 days you should be able to run Roland Cloud Plug-Ins for those 30 days without wi-fi.jamcat wrote: Wed Sep 25, 2024 10:08 pm What if you take one of those computers out of the house?

Unless of course you can't as RCM will bug you and say you are not logged in and if you don't have Internet will not allow you to use itJon at Roland wrote: Wed Sep 25, 2024 11:38 pmYes you can! That BTW was awesome when it happened during a gig, especially when it kept on popping up over and over and over again every time Gig Performer accessed my VST3 folder
Even more awesome as I was logged into the internet and Roland Cloud on that exact laptop, three hours earlier in my home studio before I left for the gig to avoid that exact issue
Thank God it popped up before the wedding started at line check and I could just use my Montage and Omnisphere. Omnisphere was great just enter your serial number on e at install and you are done. That's how good companies treat their paying customers. My lifetime key for my D50 plugin was worthless because RCM wasn't happy that I didn't have Internet and somehow forgot I was logged on three hours earlier. That's what happens when Roland thinks you are a thief and makes you log in once a month to use the software you have a lifetime key for and makes you prove you are worthy to use the software you paid for
Thank God, Eric Persing made a patch similar to Fantasia in Omnisphere. That patch was very important for that gig with the soloist as a deliberate 80s cheese
Never ever ever ever trust any Roland Cloud software to work for you on a gig or in a studio at a critical time when you are on the clock. Roland Cloud Manager will fail you at the worst possible time and make you look like a fool
I am not sure it's worth it even at your home studio when time is not critical

yup, i had the same thing happen on live shows with RC....was playing in a beach area with no internet and i was effed. never trusted Roland again for a live gig. that was a couple years ago, but i had to make workarounds that i'm still using. i only use RC instruments where there is internet which is only part of the time. oh well.

What I basically did, was use SampleRobot to automatically sample the patches I wanted/needed to gig with from the D50 and a few other things and then turn them into patches for Montage. Now I just gig with the Montage, but I always carry a Laptop and another MIDI controller in the car in case the Montage ever fails. I have the same samples in both Omnisphere and HALion7, but in a pinch I could get by with just a good piano preset and maybe a pipe organN 4 LIFE wrote: Thu Sep 26, 2024 2:31 am yup, i had the same thing happen on live shows with RC....was playing in a beach area with no internet and i was effed. never trusted Roland again for a live gig. that was a couple years ago, but i had to make workarounds that i'm still using. i only use RC instruments where there is internet which is only part of the time. oh well.
Over the last few years I have been doing more and more solo Wedding Gigs. Not very glamorous, but they are fun and pay very well. In the warmer months I do a lot of outdoor weddings away from WiFi that often have spotty cell coverage so relying on WiFi or internet is an absolute no go

There are some nice sounds in the Anthology Concerto stuff, which was discontinued, but it doesn’t need authorization anymore so that’s good.

Agreed. I think they discontinued it to make a bigger version with Galaxis. I've made some great patches stacking several of the concerto instruments at once. It's a shame how they handled it though.Examigan wrote: Thu Sep 26, 2024 3:14 pm There are some nice sounds in the Anthology Concerto stuff, which was discontinued, but it doesn’t need authorization anymore so that’s good.

Yeah, I am glad I downloaded all those before they made them unavailable.
