Hmmm, three whole seconds of YT perusal makes me think that Roland's P6 is going after the Sonicware Texture Lab market...

It looks pretty cool. I had a Korg Volca Sample and a Microgranny for a while, but I didn't really get along with those and just kept using the Octatrack and other stuff. I meant to try the Lemondrop and Tangerine from 1010music but never got around to it.

I love samplers like this so I'll definitely give it a try.

The feature set is awesome, but the interface looks like a huge pain.

I completely agree :tu:

Upon further inspection, the interface appears to be more intuitive than I first thought. It's rather similar to the matrix-style interface of synths like the Yamaha AN1x or the Waldorf Blofeld. When you select different menus, the seven knobs on top switch to a different bank of controls, e.g. when you select the pitch envelope menu, the four knobs on the right control the pitch envelope ADSR. It may be necessary to memorize which knobs do what in the secondary functions, but I think it won't take long to learn.

The controls for the granular synth are more numerous and less intuitively laid out, however, so that might be rather difficult to work with. I think that the MIDI spec allows these parameters to be controlled with a MIDI controller, though.

Looks interesting 5 second sample time though. My eps 16 has only 2 mb which is about 11 seconds but it only samples in mono so it would be 5 seconds in stereo. Would be interesting to hear transwave with granular going thru my koass pad kp3. Would fit nice on top of the eps though might be the clincher

It's 5 seconds stereo for every single key/button. It's not 5 seconds shared for everything.. and the granular stuff has it's own sample RAM too AFAIK.

very kool. through the process of time I wouldn't be surprised if I ended up with two.

BUT ... I would much prefer an ordinary battery compartment.
