I also own Avenger 2 and love it and it is no doubt far more feature rich than DUNE 3. Most of the things I love about Avenger I've requested for D3 but alas they don't follow the developer's vision for the synth or are not possible due to the core architecture (Multi Sample import, per layer Arps and FX. Split/Layer, etc).Jac459 wrote: Tue Oct 01, 2024 2:15 pm I agree on the immediacy of Legend HZ vs Dune 3...
But to me the problem of the reasoning of Dune 3 vs Legend HZ is that if I start to really think about Dune 3, then I will pick Avenger 2 and call it a day.
But I still find D3's core sound to be superior. Not by a whole lot but enough for me to prefer it over Avenger.
I don't know what the special sauce is in D3's core sound and I won't even try to define it but to me, to my ears, it is glorious to the point that it makes D3 my favorite sounding synth even if its not my deepest and most capable synth.
Avenger 2 (and Parawave Rapid as well) layer really well with DUNE 3 and make for some monstrous and miles deep sounds. I've been layering D3 with Zebra HZ lately and that yields sounds that make my peanut brittle....
So now enough talk....I'm going to go play......
