So don't f**king use them, make your own f**king drum patterns. It ain't like it's hard or anything.erussx2 wrote:I don't get it. Why would anyone want a wave sample? you can't use them. They are never in the key or tempo you want.
Why wave samples?

Some people do, really... Go to a music shop and ask for sampler software with a library of instruments. Say you know ziltch about sampling, but wanna play realistic horns in Cubase SX2. Chances are a salesperson can talk you into you leaving the shop with whatever big boxed sampling library there was on the shelf, e.g. Giga.Lunch Money wrote:Hrm. People just don't go out and buy Gigastudio if they don't know what it's capable of.
Then at home you want to try out what happens if you feed Giga with some wav loop files, and discover that either the tempo or the key is wrong. I truely can imagine you then don't get the point...
Giga is a nice tool for instruments, but not for looped material.

I guess it's feasible that someone would walk into a music store knowing zilch and walk out with Giga. But I doubt it. If they know that little, they'd have to be independently wealthy as a hobbyist to have a salesperson convince them to spend $600 on software. If they're already in the business even at a semi-pro level, they'll know what Giga is.
Not saying your counter-argument would NEVER happen, just that it's highly improbable.

I don't know about this particular guy...who knows.I guess it's feasible that someone would walk into a music store knowing zilch and walk out with Giga. But I doubt it.
But I think a large percentage of people who buy music software don't know much about what's under the hood. They just want to make music. I have quite a few friends who are like that. They have bought music software and use it to record music, but would never dream of hanging around in an internet forum like this. They just aren't interested or aren't technically inclined. And I've seen a lot of people buy stuff that I know they will never really use more than 5% of what it can do, and spend way too much in the process. They just bought it cause they heard it was "the best" and they wanted "the best" The people on this forum tend to forget that most people are not like them.

Are you angry or something?Lunch Money wrote:![]()
Ron, I saw that... and elaborated on what you were saying by pointing out to HIM (not to you, because I know you already 'get it') why we don't believe that he actually owns it.

Then I gave him some suggestions because hey-- he might actually shell out on one of those 2 worthwhile developers, putting some money into their pocket and starting him down the road to legit software usage.
Really, Ron....
I have gigastudio and I pad for it. Do you need to know how much i paid?

I knew what it was when I bought it. I did not know every capability of it, as I suspect you don't either.
The scenario that was given above was pretty accurate. So there goes your probability. Don’t go to Vegas any time soon.
