Thanks for the reply and your thoughts! I see what you mean. Of course I always like more options, but I love the plugin and appreciate you explaining the philosophy behind its design.jmg8 wrote: Mon Oct 07, 2024 8:11 amI will think about whether there is an elegant way to implement this.concealed identity wrote: Wed Oct 02, 2024 11:35 amI'm not sure if this is something you think is necessary, but have you given any thought to implementing a way to cleanly separate the different bands for each distortion module so that there's no overlap?jmg8 wrote: Wed Oct 02, 2024 8:30 am I will think about the HP/LP link, thanks for the idea. In the meantime, there is a band-pass filter in both the TONE modules.
I'm not very good at explaining, but other multiband distortions usually just have points where the affected frequency ranges are split. It's not impossible to do this in Cyberdrive using the filters, but it takes a bit of work to line everything up so that there's no overlap or gaps in the frequencies.
Anyway, just curious if this is something you considered, if it's something you don't think it's necessary, etc.
However, shared crossovers are a limitation of traditional multiband. I would say that overlapping (or gaps between) bands is better, as it is more flexable. The frequency range of a band should not dictate the range of others.
In the end, Cyberdrive will not work like a traditional multiband anyway, as it works in series. It is better to consider each DIST stage as a separate 3-band multiband, where band 2 has the effect.
United Plugins Cyberdrive a multiple distortion plugin with some particular options

Hijmg8 wrote: Mon Sep 30, 2024 9:05 am We have not announced the update yet and will add some info on the changes soon. But for you eagle eyed people who found the update earlyhere is the info you are looking for:
NEW - DIST 1, 2 and 3 now have a phase invert option for the wet signal found in the right-click menu.
NEW - PUMP effect added to MOTION module, creates sidechain pumping effect and more.
NEW - 8 new COLOURS have been added to the PROFILE module, changing the tonal character of the sound.
NEW - CORROSION effect has been added to the TONE 1 and 2 modules. It modulates the signal with noise or sine wave with adjustable frequency.
NEW - FREQ SHIFT effect has been added to the TONE 1 and 2 modules. It is a frequency shifter with feedback.
NEW - DISPERSION effect has been added to the TONE 1 and 2 modules. It is a series of all-pass filters that offset phase at a selected frequency.
NEW - VOWEL filter has been added to the TONE 1 and 2 modules. FREQ changes through A E I O U vowels.
NEW - GLITCH effect has been added to the SPACE module. It randomizes playback to create stutters and glitches.
NEW - EXPANDER effect has been added to the DYNAMICS module. It increases dynamic range (opposite to compression)
NEW - BASS COMP effect has been added to the DYNAMICS module. It preserves the low end using a sidechain HP filter.
IMPROVED - Safety CLIP is now on by default when loading the plugin.
IMPROVED - New improved filter routing "FILTER" is now the default. The old mode has been renamed to "FILTER MIX". Backwards compatibility has been preserved.
FIX - Removed mod wheel mapping error.
FIX - Inter-module oversampling now reports latency correctly.
Can we expect to have, modulation such LFO, step seq, MSG, envelope follower?

Has anyone else checked out Cyberdrive Core? $9 intro price seems like a no-brainer.

It should even be free , if you own the CYBERDRIVE plugin, foosnark wrote: Sat Mar 01, 2025 4:18 pm Has anyone else checked out Cyberdrive Core? $9 intro price seems like a no-brainer.

Aside from the autogain (and the sale price), is there a compelling reason to get this if you already have Rift 2 (... and a lot of other distortion and saturation plugins, including very good analog emulations)?
Is the autogain a lot better than just using the Gainmatch plugin?

I thought Core was pretty neat and had some algorithms I didn't necessarily already have. But that said, I have barely put it to actual use so far. and I wouldn't go for the full version.

It's relatively cheap right now though... $18 at Audiodeluxe with BFCM10, supposedly cheaper if you buy Core for $4 (plus choice of one of four free gifts at Audiodeluxe or at Plugin Boutique---four each, that is) and then buy the upgrade from Core on the United Plugins site.foosnark wrote: Sun Nov 23, 2025 5:52 pm I thought Core was pretty neat and had some algorithms I didn't necessarily already have. Guess I'll at least buy Core at that price, if there are some algos that are significantly different than anything in Rift 2---are there?... I see it includes Doom and Freak.

As a Rift owner and heavy user, I tried Cyberdrive when it came out and while it's nice, I didn't think it really brought anything new or unique to the table.Ou_Tis wrote: Sun Nov 23, 2025 3:25 pm is there a compelling reason to get this if you already have Rift 2
The $23 sale price is nice, but I just see this one collecting dust in my VST folder, so won't be acquiring. Kilohearts' Shaper Table at $19 is far more interesting and different from Rift, if you don't already own it.

I bought BitPunk for cheap, that's about it, even that can prob be replicated with the Melda stuff without too much trouble...

If you buy Core at Audiodeluxe for $4, register it then buy the $11 upgrade on the United Plugins site the total is $15. Hmm, might be worth it just for autogain if the autogain is good, since using the Gainmatch plugin is a bit of a hassle and might not be as accurate.

I bought Core I think for something stupid like $5 at PB to get a freebie and ending up using it a lot. Some of the pedals are very good, the big muff emulation is great for rough, edgy guiatrs, not necessarily the most accurate, just a really good guitar distortion, found a place in my guitar fx chain template.
