Dont worry, you gave us enough feedback to improve Impress3. Lets see what will come out...

The GR history area is the one place where tabs would make sense. If you could tab between GR history, GR bar, and dual VUs, you could just pick whichever viz you prefer at that moment.

T.o.t.s' tab renaming is definitely more useful than the current naming, but I still stand by the fact that all the configuration functions could be exposed in a single pane.

One question TB.... why are the sidechain's EQ points all disabled by default? Does turning them on without moving them change the compression detection? If not, I'd have them enabled in the init patch and presets, with the HPF and LPF set at 20hz and 20khz. 3 less boxes to check. In fact, I don't see the point in having the checkboxes at all. Double-clicking to null the EQ point would be more elegant.

Is 5ms speed window for the compression display fine for everyone? I noticed that I sometimes had prefered to have a even faster setting for fast compression settings, to see the curve more detailed.

Another point for the metering. I usually prefere it when the curve stays and is repained by a "invisible playhead". This way it's easier to see compared to a moving curve. When not possible, maybe a freeze function for the visuals?

In general impressive work!

Switching off the EQS saves CPU.
We will think about the checkboxes again, thank you.

Thank you. We may add a pause function to the level display. But 1ms is too fast for the type of display. Maybe you are looking for an oscilloscope?

Doesn't have to be 1ms that's too fast. More like 30-50% more resolution on the x axis than with the 5ms. I don't know, something like 3ms? Just to see the compression curve more easily when you use fast attach & release settings.

But it's just a nice to have. The current lowest 5ms is usable.

We will test 2-3ms.

The more time I spend with Impress3, the more I like it.

My first go-round was on the 2-buss, and I have better options there. But Impress3 really shines on individual tracks. On a pesky, spikey funk guitar track Impress3 way outperformed COMPER and Trackspacer. I also used it on a vocal and was able to tweak the sidechain into some mild de-essing. Also used the sidechain on a synth buss to pull the mids forward a bit.

The sidechain and compression curve shaping options are very useful. It kind of reminds me of the dynamics tool in DaVinci Resolve, which is a tool that I always wanted a VST. I also learned that stretching the plugin vertically improved the usability of both the GR history and the GR bar meters.

I ultimately threw in the towel and bought this one. I've been trying really hard these days to not buy more plugins, but once it was dialed in on a couple of tracks, I didn't want to remove it. It's going to get a lot of use.
