Got this today:
October 7, 2024: Dear Voxengo customers,
With a regret, Voxengo has to suspend international sales for an undefined period of time, starting October 15th, 2024. 2Checkout, Inc., a payment company I was doing business with since 2006, has scheduled cancellation of the contract, most probably due to recent US sanctions targeting Russian IT sector.
Unfortunately, all payment processing companies similar to 2Checkout are not accepting Russian businesses already since 2022. But I will be looking for a solution to this situation. Sales in rubles, to customers having Russian bank cards, will continue without interruption.
Kind regards,
Aleksey Vaneev at Voxengo

I feel sorry for him and everyone else that's been caught up in the war. I think most of us "common" people get along great. It's just the egos in power that take away from a good life. Anyway, I hope it gets sorted for Aleksey. He makes some fine products and I hate to see this happen to him .

Cryptocurrencies are available everywhere. Not all people trust them and there may be (I don't know) some disadvantages ot troubles from the business point of view (bookkeeping etc.). But it is definitely possible, providers exist.pekbro wrote: Tue Oct 08, 2024 4:12 am There are solutions available out of the Netherlands seemingly. Hipolink is what another developer I like is using currently...
May be, it's possible to sell from Plugin Alliance or Plugin Boutique exclusively...

That's a very sad news for everyone, Voxengo makes very good plugins, i hope everything will be somehow solved quickly.
Anyway if you don't have, and you may need a limiter, my suggestion for people who asked, is to get Elephant, is simply the best limiter you can get.

Yes, these are sad times. I bought the lifetime complete bundle some years ago, so..
But I won't buy anything 2checkout related as long as Aleksey is blocked which means
unfortunately no new TAL Software for me until this madness ends.

Blaming 2checkout for stringent international sanctions is just plain weird. I'm a bit surprised they and Alexey held out this long. The Russian guy who does Reason REs went to crypto-based sales a while back because he couldn't find a western service to handle the transactions.c1c2 wrote: Tue Oct 08, 2024 9:57 am Yes, these are sad times. 2checkout (verifone) is based in Florida and is under the jurisdiction of the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)
It's likely they had some kind of audit by OFAC and were told to drop any clients that violated those restrictions.

I think the Spire guys when they first started out said they had registered the company in the Bahamas or some such place to avoid exactly this. Don't know if this is possible ATM.

On the 2checkout case:
Just to say "I am doing what I am told." is not
enough, never was and never will be an excuse...
But I get the point..
On the crypto thing: Maybe that is a practical
approach that helps Aleksey actually.

They have a choice: Do what they are told, or shut down and fire all their employees, leaving all their customers in the lurch.c1c2 wrote: Tue Oct 08, 2024 1:27 pm On the 2checkout case:

I know which one I'd do.
