Probably I misunderstood then. You want a MIDI note to move the big deal so that one sample is selected, right? Right now we have a MIDI to pitch and MIDI to cutoff. I can add a MIDI to selector, that should probably work.mi-os wrote: Tue Oct 08, 2024 3:35 pmSure, but what about a legato mode? It shouldn't be much different from orchestral libraries, just with a simple x-fade transition instead of recorded legato samples.

How do you guys use Noises? Personally, I’m not a fan of that kind of plugins able to produce textures and soundscapes when they function as instruments, since I find it annoying to have to choose drag and drop samples into them all the time. Is there a way to use Noises as an effect instead?

Sorry, I'm not sure if we're on the same boat either. I like the linear and random playback modes which are offered via TRIP, but would like to have more control about the sequence in certain scenarios. I'd like to create my own TRIP in the piano roll by entering notes for all 8 slots independently. That way I would have everything nicely synced to my compositon.audiothing wrote: Tue Oct 08, 2024 4:03 pmProbably I misunderstood then. I'm not sure what you mean by that.enCiphered wrote: Tue Oct 08, 2024 4:11 pm How do you guys use Noises? I see, rearranging the sequence might not be possible at the moment. However, I think that assigning MIDI to the big dial could be useful.mi-os wrote: Tue Oct 08, 2024 4:14 pmSorry, I'm not sure if we're on the same boat either. Thanks for looking into it.audiothing wrote: Tue Oct 08, 2024 4:39 pm I see, rearranging the sequence might not be possible at the moment. However, I think that assigning MIDI to the big dial could be useful.
What ever you come up with, another mode for manually triggering the slots like 8 parallel endless loop players would be nice as well, i think. Just to have maximum flexibility how to trigger the sounds. Poly and legato mode would be cool.

Well, according to the description on the website and the available videos, it’s an instrument that allows you to load noise samples or custom sounds from a bank or custom folder. You can then tweak the sound using various controls. My question is: can it also be used as an effect plugin on a track to process the input signal?mi-os wrote: Tue Oct 08, 2024 4:16 pmI'm not sure what you mean by that.enCiphered wrote: Tue Oct 08, 2024 4:11 pm How do you guys use Noises? Well hardwares background' emulator It's mainly for all kind of experimental genres \ sound design (for cinema\game especially). But further being rythmized thru internal modulation obviously can use in all music you want (seems can cool for techno etc).enCiphered wrote: Tue Oct 08, 2024 4:11 pm How do you guys use Noises? And yes do not mandatory to dragndrop your samples - here already included good library of prepared textures.
Although import is one of the reasons why I liked it, but it's not so much about ability itself (after all, we can just throw sample onto track in DAW), but how it's implemented. Limited bank of 8 textures, with a convenient selector, there is some pleasant and productive aesthetics in this. (I already tried to add my own stack, and it's quite fun, not only result but preparing\selecting process too

Noises is just an instrument not an fx unit - there is no live audio into it. Since the fx element is merely a filter and a sound degrader (bit and sample rate) that kind of tinkering on its own would almost certainly be better done with something other than Noises. It really doesn't offer much for altering a single sound - its inherent idea is to morph through a collection of sounds.Well, according to the description on the website and the available videos, it’s an instrument that allows you to load noise samples or custom sounds from a bank or custom folder. I do like Noises (I tend to use my own compiled samples) though I do wish it offered more than just the one in-built lfo modulator. It does make just about every control available to external modulation and I particuIarly like to set a modulator to the on/off buttons for the individual sounds within a bank to give added variation.
Personally, I think Noise combines very well with Audio Thing's Wires.

Thanks, got it now. I think that's just not the idea behind this plugin. I see more like a noise rompler.enCiphered wrote: Tue Oct 08, 2024 5:58 pmWell, according to the description on the website and the available videos, it’s an instrument that allows you to load noise samples or custom sounds from a bank or custom folder. @enCiphered: it occurs to me that if you are looking for something which can give various ways of breaking down an audio signal, then aberrant dsp's Digitalis offers spectral manipulation, pitch shifting and signal degradation all in one with the ability to use all or any of the effects and to change their order.

The Trip section seems to be the only way to modulate the centre dial...? but it sweeps through the whole thing.
can somebody tell me how to reduce the depth of the Trip section? i may be blind. I just want a slooooow modulation of a tiiiiny section of the centre dial. Is this possible?
like i know i can switch off all the buttons/zones at the bottom, so i just have the 2 sections i want, but it's still too deep of a change.
Thank you!
