That's the most horrid sound I've ever heard. To me it has all the sonic appeal of someone using a broken chain saw while stepping on a cat's tail.

But I'm not one of the EDM Noise Boys so if that's what floats someone's boat then by all means party on. You've found your dream synth.

Your name and avatar are so misleading! :x

I don't get the complaints though. It's not like a synth with a filter that goes beyond pleasant can't do pleasant sound's, it's quite the opposite IMO, a synth without a brutal filter can't do brutal sounds. Examples off the top of my head of brutal but beautiful sounding synths: the just released Microwave, Hive 2, Falcon, the SEM clones, Pigments etc. etc.

I've already made a few lofi ambient sounds for it and I haven't even bought it yet, just about to!

Yeah, with the MS-20 being probably the canonical example

Bug in the delay section. Changes in timing MOSTLY does nothing. Win10 BWS 5.2

I haven’t even looked at the second screen yet but do you have it synced to the host clock?

I love the sound of this synth and I’m not an EDM guy. The over driven VCA sounds a lot like a real over driven VCA in a modular rig and those hard edges is where it gets interesting with filter resonances with sweeps picking up interesting harmonics. That starve (sag?) knob is another thing all together, No one has mentioned the effects section but I think they got it right as well,

This deserves a dedicated controller box. Until then I’m making a control template in TouchOSC.

The reasonable number of controls gives a very rewarding experience without crazy menu diving. That makes it fun to use. Mega synths like Massive and Pigments can do great things but for me there isn’t much spontaneous fun with them.

It’s a keeper. Love that example Bones.

I think this is Cherry Audio's best synth so far because it addresses a lot of the issues I have with their synths.

I find a lot of their synths kind of lacking in character, UIs that are too cluttered and sometimes a tendency to get too far from what the original synth sounds like.

It's like they really understood the brief this time.

On the real Polivox everything is wildly inconsistent and there are anomalies everywhere. The starve knob for example does a great job of adding in those weird discrepancies due to out of range or unstable components that were present in the circuits of the original.

My own polivoks makes really weird noises when you adjust the filter cutoff. I can more or less replicate that with the Starve knob. An addition that isn't on the original but one that can get you closer to the original's eccentricities.

UI is great and being able to hide the keyboard really helps with screen real estate.

Yes, I'm sure we'll hear this in Kylie Minogue's next big dancefloor hit.

Have you tried Korg's new ARP 2600 VSTi? They've dropped a SEM filter into it as an extra. With the Drive and Pre-Amp, you can wire in some serious filth. For my money it's the best sounding softsynth money can buy.

This is absolutely glorious

There's one thing I think Atomika really needs, and quite badly - a retrigger mode. It's not always easy to play non-legato, a retrigger mode would make it a lot more playable.

Last CA synth I bought was Dreamsynth, which has some quirky charms. Atomika has me back on board.

This thing is the bomb.
