Hi

I don't know if this is proper section of this forum, but I want to write something about Rigid Audio Kontakt GUI Maker.

I bought it because it was on promo on Plugin Boutique.
Why I bought it? Well, I created some sounds for Kontakt, but never learn how to made GUI for them. Not very complicated stuff, but just some synth solo or something like that with all routing, velocity control, effects etc.
So all I wanted is to add graphics user interface to instrument I made. I thought that if I was used three effects, filters, envs and LFOs, I can just assign nice knobs for some of my instrument parameters and maybe some background. Nothing more - something like in MSoundFactory.

But apparently this program's name is a little misleading. It's not GUI Maker - it's Instrument Maker. You cannot load any of your instruments into it and add GUI. All you can do is to create instrument from zero using KGM and using only options which developer specified. KGM have lot of options - that is a fact. But if someone expect that it helps to made GUI for your own instrument - is not what it does.

Why Rigid Audio can't just name it Kontakt Instrument Maker?

Product page at https://www.rigid-audio.com/products_ko ... maker.html says "Kontakt GUI Maker : WYWIWYG Kontakt Instrument Creation Tool" right at the top.
Followed by 'Create and Sell your own Kontakt Instruments"
then two or three videos on creating Kontakt Instruments
and finished up with "Start Creating your own Kontakt instruments today"

Its very hard to miss what they say its for, in fact.

Im not sure why you'd buy a product without checking the product information for sure what it is and does from the developer's website, but it would be the sensible thing to do before spending money. Caveat emptor and all that.
FWIW, it does actually let you make GUIs, but obviously only within its own framework.

If PB mis-described or mis-sold it, you could try requesting your money back, but their product description of it for developing Kontakt instruments is fairly clear as well:

"Create and Sell Your Own Kontakt Instruments

KGM allows anyone to design, create and develop instruments for the Kontakt sampler by Native Instruments without the need to write a single line of code."
An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

It was on promo and I saw few videos, descriptions, but probably not everything on product page.
I can get refund, but I'll decide to keep it. For $5 is not worth refund and maybe some day will be useful.
Anyway - product name should be different imo.
And "Start Creating your own Kontakt instruments today" can be understood differently - for example if instrument means samples, routing and gui - this tool could help creating gui. Rest is in fact not so complicated in Kontakt, so I just don't expecetd that someone may invent different (and more difficult) way to made the same.
