I've seen a lot of Arturia products but never tried them and was curious. Thanks!

What does "need" have to to with it?
This is KVR!

Omnisphere is great and covers a lot of ground in multiple synthesis types, but it’s not an emulation of any of the classic synths that Arturia’s offerings cover. So, I’d say they’re complementary. Whether or not you “need” it is something you’d have to answer for yourself.
Logic Pro | LUNA Pro | OB-X8 | Prophet 6 | OB-6 | Rev2 | TEO-5 | Pro 3 | SE-1X | Minitaur | Deepmind 12D | Integra-7 | TR-1000 | Analog RYTM mk2 | Digitakt 2 | TD-3 MO | TD-3 | Maschine+

that depends... if you have some more advanced synths you can skip arturia.
arturia synths are quite good now, but there are higher quality synths on the market. If you are in the rare case of needing good emulations of some legendary synths like moog, prophet, juno, cs-80 , etc in one nice package, than go and get the VCollection.
Its just a matter of personal preferences.
I also used Arturia synths here and there, but also have many other synths, so after some time i have sold my VCollection.
But that's just me, imho Zebra legacy alone beats the entire VCollection, and I rather use the UAD Moog than the one in VCollection.

“Need” is such a meaningless word in this context. There is only desire, and obtaining the tools needed to achieve your goals. Different tools have different characteristics. Even a different interface can lead someone to different outcomes. If you’re asking about something else, you’ve already made your decision and you’re just looking for confirmation and permission. So, here it is. Go for it. Omnisphere is good at many things, but you’ll never get it sounding really authentically like an analog synth. Not to someone who’s familiar with them. Now, that may or may not matter to you. It’s not like there’s some universal truth that this type of sound is better, or even necessary.

I love exploring, and I love a wide range of different sounds. V Collection hasn’t always been that good. I used to be pretty critical of it, but over the past few years, they’ve really stepped up their game. They’re not the most accurate, but they’re pretty good, and what they lack in accuracy they more than make up for in added features that move them significantly beyond the originals. So, if you want the closest emulation of a Prophet 5 mk2, look to Softube. If you want something that’s pretty close and has more under the hood, Prophest 5 V is awesome. It’s going to give you audio rate modulation types that Omnisphere does not do, via the Poly-Mod section.

For those who are just starting out, Omnisphere should be plenty. It's best to invest time in learning its capabilities then see if there are any gaps in your palettes that particular synths would fill.

I think Ominisphere is too fat...and its UI has been old,but it is still a good synth

In my opinion every synth is different in both terms of sounds and workflow.
Altough it all depends on your needs and preferences. Just be sure if you buy one, you know the reason you want it/need it, so you avoit to spent unnecessary money for no real reason

If you already own Omnisphere, the next plugin(s) to add are Trilian and Keyscape.
