Looks like a partnership? https://www.musicthing.co.uk/about/
I can’t find an about page for Thonk, but as for Music Thing, it looks that’s Tom Whitwell as a solo project, with DIY kits sold through Thonk.

Nope; Thonk make and sell MTM kits (and panels/PCBs), but they're designed by MTM.

Thonk have definitely introduced their first modules of their own, though.)
Must be related to the post count. If you weren’t too busy posting, you would have noticed!![]()

Not sure that I can justify this atm (although it's only around £350), but it certainly looks and sounds beastly!

Wish I had the dosh for a couple of these Collide 4 modules from Hainbach/Joranalogue...

Won a Polyend Play hardware sequencer on eBay at a pretty low price. It’s the old model but I was only really interested in using it for MIDI step sequencing anyway so it should do fine for that with maybe a few samples for accompaniment.

Hopefully you use it for more than just sequencing. It’s super punchy sounding.

Indeed. Quite the deep and intriguing module! .whyterabbyt wrote: Sun Oct 13, 2024 10:42 am Wish I had the dosh for a couple of these Collide 4 modules from Hainbach/Joranalogue...
I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

Collide 4 reminds me a lot of Synchrodyne, and to a lesser extent, Wogglebug. Mad science design, starting from a particular type of circuit and then expanding on it to make it do more different things.
I'm also getting the Synchdroyne vibe from the videos so far. Some chaotic stuff, and some stuff that could be done (approximately) with gear that I already have.
Having owned both Synchrodyne and Wogglebug twice and resold them both times, I just don't vibe with that sort of thing very well.
And also I have just never been able to stick with any Joranalogue modules (and it's not that there's some consistent design philosophy of theirs that I don't like, I think they're good actually). Filter 8 was favorite of them, but I liked Angle Grinder better in terms of filter character and oscillator possibilities.
