I wonder, are there any newbies getting into Reaktor? I'm on the fence a little bit, Reaktor 6 is like 10 yo and NI stated that they won't develop it further except for maintenance so it's basically on life support at this point. On the other hand I think it might really suit my needs and I'm willing to invest my time, so may I ask for a little push?

Worth it just for the factory instruments and effects imo. The user library has countless amazing free ensembles. buy now !

Reaktor is a deep rabbithole that you know you can step down into whenever you want to.

More highly touted back in the late 90s when it really stuck out against anything else-

If we could get a better preset browser, I would be happy. I often find a Reaktor preset in Komplete Kontrol that I want to tweak inside of Reaktor, but it's almost impossible to find it.

For example, the "Berlin bass drone" preset sounds amazing, but where is it in Reaktor? The GUI says Junatik II from the factory library. So I go there, and I have to search through a long list of presets because it is not sorted alphabetically. I want to make music, not play detective. Just let me search for "Berlin bass drone" and load the appropriate ensemble.

If Komplete Kontrol can sort through those presets, why can't Reaktor? I would also like to save it as a favorite.

Yeah, snapshots/presets are a total mess. I always save anything Reaktor related as an Ableton rack. Much easier.
