hrmm well I'd care about it..Chase wrote:I really don't care If a name is taken as long as they aren't very popular and if I'm different enough from the artist(s) who have the name as well. something like.. portal fall or portal jump ..just not that dumb though..
hydra's demise..
personally I liked chaser but alas its already taken..
btw I recommend trying www.discogs.com with whatever you decide.. its not complete but at least its a good quick check to see if anyone is using the alias you pick.
I should also point out that Hydra is also being used by someone who has released a lot on polydor UK
I should also also point out that Portal is also being used by someone who has a decently long discography: http://www.portalmusic.info/
which leaves frog heart from that list..

what happens when one of the 4 does become popular? even moderately.. you've just spent that extra time using the same alias and now would proabably have to switch ..
or
what happens when you become popular? Those who have proof (via record releases) that they've used the name before you could probably make you change your alias..
but either way it gets confusing for you in the long run.. how do your listeners deciper which portal someone is talking about? kind of like my story on the first page of this thread about the DJ Vitamin D and having people mistaken me for him via email..
your call but I'd look at it a bit more..

Chase is much better than any of the options you have in the poll. I remeber you made that point of imaging a dnb cover with some famous name and yours attached to it...
Stakka and Frog Heart? Optikal and Portal? TeeBee and Hydra? Nah...
if you want that little extra, go graf style... Chase One

Hydra is a very basic living organism, normally used to demonstrate asexual budding in biology.

Why wouldn't you want to continue using your name?
