I have made a plugin (ArrangerKing) and the few people who have bought it are overly happy, I get very happy mails etc.

But the market is just full of layers upon layers of advertisers, so even though I know I have something of outstanding value and interest to many, it's insanely expensive to reach out.

I can pay YouTUbe to promote videos, but the only thing that works really is when somebody is writing about the plugin - but then on for example Reddit it's so freaking harsh, flaming all over.. Do I just need to grow up or is there a way you can have a good day AND let people know about your plugin?

Maybe people react as me when they checked out your plugin?
When i noticed the numbers on the buildings, intros and prechorus as 5 or 9, verse as 17, i feared it would show that i had to study hard to understand your system.
I expect those numbers to stand for beats or measures. Which mean 4,8,12,16,etc. Never an odd number.
So i hesitate and see what happens in the near future.

Your plugin seems like a great concept and the price is low. Can you explain what it actually does? Does it do more than provide a guide?

You need to have a very thick skin, be very matter of fact in public, offer help where need, and try your best not to call everyone a **** and then jump off a cliff :hihi:

It's a harsh, often pathetic world online, and you are a better man than me if you can run a business there. Many do, many fail.

If its something you are passionate about, keep going, and learn as much as you can from your customers/potential customers without losing your vision.

Good luck :tu:

I would make sure to upload a demo video that shows exactly why you believe that it’s a special piece of software. Allow potential customers to see your vision and hear it in a musical context with minimal dialogue.

Then I would get free copies into the hands of reputable content creators that have a decent following. There are some good people out there who enjoy helping an independent developer get the word out about a useful tool.

And love it or hate it, Discord can be an effective option for spreading word of mouth quickly. You could gain more visibility if they do a review, and you’d probably receive some excellent feedback and ideas that could make your software even better.

Just make sure that it’s ready for release and try not to take any criticism as a personal dig. For a lot of people, buying a VST is purely transactional. They’re focused more on receiving a stable plug-in that does what’s advertised. I wish you all the best, good luck! :tu:

I just received an email from ADSR that has ArrangerKing on it. That was a smart idea and getting your plug-in on alternative online shops would get it in front of more eyes.

I don’t know what the business agreement would be like, but if you can, I would also consider getting onto Plugin Boutique, Audio Plugin Deals, etc. I hope that you’re able to get back what you invested, and hopefully more. Cheers!

I like your site design a lot, very clear and clean. What did you go with there?

if you are working in fours, then for example, the verse starts on 17...
this may explain the odd numbers?

(havent looked at the plug in, but that would make sense to me)

Yes, for music in general in terms of song structure, sections usually start on odd numbers because the sections are usually an even number of measures long.

I wish it was that easy. It was only 25-35% odd numbers the rest was even. This is from the video on the startpage.
There was guides where the graphics showed only even numbers. Normally you don't dig that deep as an impulse buyer.
Given this inconsistency and shortened deal, i wait.

So the other thing is there are no actual rules here, and you can also have 1 measure breaks or "post-chorus" type stuff that then throws the rest of the measures back to even (until another one happens )

Not saying that's what's going on here, just in general with music

Post

The very point of this plugin is to codify rules.
