i everyone,

i have an issue with the DS Tantra 2 plugin in Ableton. The vertical grid lines in the modulation window are not evenly spaced (as shown in Photo 1). I expected uniform, equally spaced grid lines, but they are inconsistent—some close together, others far apart.

Here is the issue in the attached photo https://ibb.co/WzndkCB

And this is how the grid should look: https://ibb.co/F3qwwJF

This issue does not happenin other DAWs, where the plugin displays the grid as expected, with equally spaced vertical lines.

Has anyone been thorught a similar situation in Ableton or know why this happens? And how can i fix this ?

Thanks

hmmm, very strange. i am not seeing this in Live 12.1 on Windows 11. I am using Tantra 2 v2.02 VST3.

does it do this on your system when you just load up the Default Preset, or do you make any specific edits?

Post

No edits At all. thats how It loads by default. Windows 11 live 12.1 as well.

i don't remember whether the installer offered VST2 but I am using VST3.

edit: has it ever worked for you in the past in Ableton (did the behaviour change at some point, or has it never behaved since you first installed it)? Maybe a re-install?

JamminFool, thanks for your help. This is my first time installing it. I've tried reinstalling both the VST and Ableton itself, as well as rebooting the computer. I’ve tested both VST2 and VST3 versions, but I still have the same issue in Ableton (everything is updated to the latest versions). I don’t experience this behavior in FLstudio btw,

sorry i couldn't be of more help. maybe you should try contacting the developer next. good luck.

one last thought: maybe try deleting the Ableton Live plugin database file. then allow Live to rescan and rebuild the database. perhaps it was corrupted? (Live 12.1 changed things by splitting the plugins out to a separate database file. I can't remember what it is called right now, but you can find the information on the Ableton site).

Thanks for helping again... I finally solved the issue. I was really suspicious as to why it happened in Ableton and not in FL. Since it was a display-related issue, I figured it might be related to the graphics card. So I made sure that my Windows settings were forcing Ableton to use my hardware graphics card for rendering. I went to Windows Settings > Display > Graphics and then made Ableton use my hardware graphics card instead of the internal one. And that solved the issue.

cool! glad to know that you solved it. :tu:
