I noticed this thread (I don't read this section usually, I don't have a business) and it hurts reading this.
Perhaps you may want to give more visibility to this issue, outside of the dev section?
As a customer of some of your companies, I fully sympathize with you. It sucks getting paid late or not getting paid at all (I experienced it first hand with one of my previous employers).

yes I totally agree, this thread should have more visibility, as it is one of the very few (if not the only) active source of information about this burning topic that is affecting not only developers but users too

I've also been using Element5 => Share-It! => MyCommerce / Digital River for decades now and I can't believe what is happening, and can't understand why this is happening.
Someone mentioned Kaspersky due to sanctions but I suspect this might not be that big of a deal. However, I've heard that big clients of VMware (Cicso, NVidia...) were not happy and not paying for the huge price increase following Broadcom's acquisition. Could that be the source of their problem ?
See: https://www.techradar.com/pro/more-than ... ent-unrest
And: https://www.digitalriver.com/vmware-con ... xperience/
This topic is one of the only active and insightful one on the Internet, which is puzzling. I assume that we should be thousands impacted world-wide. I've started contacting local new website and I suggest that many of you do the same to raise visibility on this issue.
For those interested in alternatives, I've now stopped selling anything with MyCommerce and moved to Paddle. This has been a very stressful transition but looks like a nice service. Finger-crossed I will get some revenue next month as 3 months without anything is nerve wracking!

I created a Paddle account a couple of years ago but just never got round to using it. Just looked and it seems to still be active.jonjbar wrote: Mon Oct 14, 2024 12:59 pm For those interested in alternatives, I've now stopped selling anything with MyCommerce and moved to Paddle. Also, when I had a KYC email from DR around 6 or 7 months ago- I quickly completed all the documentation they asked for but they never came back to me to say KYC was accepted/completed so I was worried in case DR would close my account. Many years ago Id used Avangate (Now 2Checkout) so in August I started to set up 2Checkout account and had that in place by end August.
I'm still kicking myself that I didn't move away from DR sooner but I stayed with DR till end of September.
Last day or so of September I did put around $1000 in sales through 2Checkout and also around $1000 via PayPal in first day or so of October.
I've decided to stay with PayPal now. Actual fees are quite low but they have some weird expensive currency exchange rate that I don't like. But for now. I'll go with PayPal.
PayPal's current "Buy Now" buttons - which anyone can setup in just a few minutes - are OK and buyers can checkout with a credit/debit card without needing a PayPal account. Doesn't even make the buyer create a PayPal account and the checkout flow is pretty minimal=quick.
Best thing about PayPal is that I can withdraw my funds whenever I want
So. If you're still using DR because you're waiting for an account to be activated with one of the alternatives. DON'T WAIT. Don't send any more money down the DR Black Hole. You won't see it. Set up paypal buttons. Takes just a few minutes. Then you have time to setup with one of the MoR alternatives if you wish.

Are banks aware of the situation with DR? DR must have merchant accounts with major banks. Are these banks aware of their customer actions? Is PayPal management aware? How about Google Pay? Are these financial institutions aware?
How about financial market regulators, Bundesbank and the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin)? Are they aware of the situation? Can anybody from Germany shed some light?

If you can share any news sites of interest then I would contact them too as I am effected by the MyCommerce payment issues too.jonjbar wrote: Mon Oct 14, 2024 12:59 pm I've also been using Element5 => Share-It! => MyCommerce / Digital River for decades now and I can't believe what is happening, and can't understand why this is happening.

Hi. I'm just yet another victim of this Digital River scam.
I sell one-time purchase licenses not subscriptions, so I quickly changed the Buy Now links on my website to Paypal buttons. However Digital River owes me July and part of August. I am thinking about issuing refunds to all the orders. I prefer people to use the software for free rather than giving my money away to these Digital River scammers.

this thief was terrorizing us. first he wrote he had to check us by phone/Non-Doc Verification. When we repeated all the stupid data (they have for 20 years) through the phone, they didn't pay anyway. We asked again where's our money,he wrote that everything was verified and that he would pass our data and will inform us, which of course did not happen and now he doesn't respond at all.
