I am struggling to extract MIDI from an audio track. DodoMIDI and MIDIGuitar do a so-so job but I can't figure out how to save the MIDI they produce in real time. So I would like to remove the synth from the end of the chain and redirect their MIDI output to a MIDI port, or rather to another track. But then I need something on the receiving track that will listen to that MIDI output and write it. Is there such a thing?
Note: I use Waveform on Linux.
Is there a MIDI writer plugin?

I don´t use Waveform, but did you set up all the recording settings in Waveform correctly ? Here is an old thread, that may help: "Waveform won't record MIDI notes [Solved]" viewtopic.php?t=483503

Thanks. But that thread mentions some "Record to Note Automation" option that I can't find anywhere. I even wonder if it's been removed in newer versions. That thread is from seven years ago.GGaudio7 wrote: Tue Oct 15, 2024 5:55 pm I don´t use Waveform, but did you set up all the recording settings in Waveform correctly ?
