A very unique audio driver issue?

Hey all,

I have a really weird issue i've been having lately when it comes to producing on the go with my laptop. So after troubleshooting with multiple different DAW's and different audio drivers in my DAW, I found that my my audio latency spikes extremely high when my laptop is not connected to the internet. The only reason I found this out was when i connect my laptop to my phones hotspot so i could look for an answer online but i couldn't find anything.

So basically if im at home, on the internet or whatever, everything works just fine.

If i'm away and I open my DAW (not connected to internet/wifi) my DAW audio is unuable
This is only in the DAW not the whole computer audio.

I've tried 3 different DAW's and I've tried the ASIO realtek, asio4all, flexasio, WASAPI, FL Asio etc and this problem persists if i'm not online

I have no clue what is causing this or how to fix it

specs:

ASUS Rog G15 - Windows 11

I normally use a Motu M2 interface at home

I've tried power saving settings, no help
I've tried updating my BIOS and that didn't help,
airplane mode/turning off wifi device does not help

Did you just switch off wifi (alike airplane mode) , or is wifi on while there is no network?

The former should work ok.
The latter will likely result in your pc obsessively wasting time in scanning for available wifi networks.
But it is possible something in the background wants to connect to the net (even when there is no net) and wasting time.

Try a so-called Latency Monitor (by Resplendence?) to figure out what process is getting in the way.

Latencymon is saying my system is good to go, so idk what is causing this

Yes, oddly enough the problem isn't it being on or not its having a literal connection to the internet. A friend of mine thinks something must be trying to ping online but idk what or how

You may try a clean boot, but with the wifi switched off I had expected Respendence Latency Monitor would find a smoking gun.

check your webcam configurations.
sometimes webcam settings mess up the whole system for latency.
be sure to check both the webcam's audio and it's video settings.

I was really hoping latencymon would've helped too.

Clean boot didn't seem to help much either,
Same problem persists with the wifi turned off, turned it on while in a clean boot and the problem was gone, not a solution

Just checking: you ran the Latency monitor while you do what you do when the problem kicks in?
That is: wifi turned off and you have a DAW playing a near-empty project.

I test with a finished full project, the audio in the daw will sound crackled and very distorted like when you have large cpu spikes, but there's no spike in cpu, the the minute I turn the wifi on and have a connection, the problem is gone. I'm not sure what to do at this point short of backing up my files and reinstalling my OS
