Hi,

I search an eq plugin to make a 4 bands eq like Xone Dj mixer in ableton

the slope for Hi and Low are 12 DB/Oct and for LowMid and HiMid the notch go to -28Db.

Low cut freq = 220Hz, Low Mid = 320Hz, Hi Mid = 1800Hz, and Hi =2400Hz

I allreadyget the eq cruve with wave q-clone from a xone of my friend and I need and eq that can go under -45Db for Low and Hi.

Do you know a parametric eq that can be used and have this range of DB gain above -45Db ?

Do you know an EQ plugin for my need ?

Thanks

Mickael

There should be quite some of which Equalize comes into my mind.

I tried the Equilize demo from Acon but it seem the max is -36Db when I select Low Shelf.

Are you sure that is a shelf ?

"4 BAND EQ controls rather than the usual 3 for greater creativity. Each band has a safe +6dB boost. The HI and LO bands have infinite attenuation (total kill) with a sharp 12dB/oct roll-off and the MID bands have a massive -30dB of cut, enough to shape your sound well beyond normal EQ range, and without overloading your system."

p25 suggests HPF/LPF's and BPF for that model at least.

Maybe Isol8 does what you want:

Otherwise, ReaEQ can do any values that you type into the value boxes.

I dont know ableton nor xone but low shelf with high slope is nothing special in digital plugin world...just avoid all "analogue" eq plugins, most stock daw and similar subpar plugins and search decent ones in the rest.../to name just 2 from top of my head: Fabfilter ProQ-slope up to 96 db, Melda MDynamic eq-slope up to 120 db...and Im sure there are many others/

I think he's talking about the amount of gain (boost or cut) that can be applied as opposed to the slope of the filter

FabFilter Pro-Q 3, you can set custom slopes (including 12dB/oct) and specific crossover frequencies. The gain range goes as low as -96dB, which easily allows for the deep cuts you're looking for.

DMG Audio EQuilibrium is another highly flexible EQ that allows you to create very specific custom curves. It has a deep cut range and can handle the kind of precision you need for matching the Xone EQ.

Waves F6 Floating-Band Dynamic EQ allows for adjustable frequency bands with a range that can easily handle cuts beyond -45dB. It’s also a dynamic EQ, meaning you can make the bands respond to the input signal, which might be useful for DJ-style effects.

TDR Nova GE, while primarily a dynamic EQ, it offers extensive controls over each frequency band, including very deep cuts and flexible filter settings. The notch can go deep enough for what you're looking to achieve, and it provides great flexibility in band placement.

Since you already have the EQ curve from Wave Q-Clone, you can use that as a reference to match the curve in the plugin you choose.

Another is StandardEQ from Sir Audio Tools, goes to -48 db, std or butterworth...
A great and underated eq imo... Also it's easy to get 25% off I believe, just by
subscribing to the news letter...

sry -48 db not 50 my bad... I'm sure he would consider extending the range if asked...

Wouldn't any digital low shelf eq be able to do this by stacking them?

Post

You simply would not take a low shelf filter to go that low, you would rather take cut. What would be left over from a low shelf lower than -36 dB would be masked by the higher sounds anyway…
Hardware might be more limited in the choice of filters than software…

I tried this eq and it work very well for the low I can match the curve from the q-clone exactly and the gain is set to -45DB. This eq sound good even for the LowMid and HiMid peak when pushed to +6Db there is no unpleasant resonance. It is very convenient to show the phase response of the eq.

Thanks for this suggestion !!!

After trying few eq I found the eiosis aireq premium. This eq have a strength parameter and it work very well. This parameter isn't like a mix knob like waves eq 6 or fabfilter volcano. When you set a 12 DB/oct low pass and use the strength slider it really act like analog console when turn down the low knob, I can view this on curveeq analyser or plugin doctor.
I made my ableton rack with 2 instances of aireq (low, high), for low and high I mapped the strength slider and for lowmid, highmid I use kirchoff eq I allready have for the bell.

I think the one in Audacity goes even lower. Let me look: Nope. That's the Noise Reduction. Graphic EQ does -20 and Filter Curve does -30.
