One Synth Challenge #187: ExtraBold by Nakst (Jasinski Wins!)

Congratulations to the winners!
I thought my song was too unpleasant to do that well (wife hates it) - so that was a pleasant surprise.
Shout out to Liqih for 4th place - great song.
And well done to Negoba for getting in top 10 for the first time.
Sad that Elvincente was so low down - with such a stunning track.
Ah well - that is the mystery of OSC - and we love it!
Thanks to the organisers - this would be nothing without them.

Uh, that's so sweet, THANK YOU for welcoming me back so generously!
CONGRATS to all TOP 10ers and naturally to Jasinski for a well deserved win, but I'm thrilled for all top 5ers, especially Ligih and Silverpants! Awesome!
Thanks, as always, to BJ and Richard! The true legends!
Nakst's ExtraBold has been a fantastic synth that drew me back to it again and again this month. Pretty fascinating for such a seemingly minimal little beast. But there was a curious allure from it somehow. It sounds great and it was so fun to figure out how to work around its limitations. And the amount of fantastic sounding tracks is a perfect testimony to it.

Hey!...what the hell...
First of all congratulations to Jas the winner and to all the amazing oscers of this round.
I'm so surprised by many things this time! I was undecided between 4 and 5 points (later giving 4) for Negoba and Hennessy, who place quite high, and for Johnkhf who instead has a low ranking . Position too low even for excellent songs by Elvicente and DX7
. Instead I gave 2 points to position n°12!
As for my track, I told my wife that I would place around 10th position: definitely behind the top two, TSOM, Kraftraum, Maxym.sprl and probably peterH, Cyber Samurai or others. But I know you're only voting for me because I know how to actually make "spaghetti carbonara" and you want to know the truth about that
. (Silverpants knows my real secret
)
Finally very very happy for Liqih and SP in green zone
.
Thanks to everyone but especially to Nakst, and with love to the two OSC masters Richard and BJ.
See you around here and ciaoooo!
I skip the prize

What great songs, sounds and attention to detail from everyone, really great. The quality of the tracks has totally increased since the last time I was there
Thank you all also for your hints, tips and comments. As always, they help a lot with further development. After more than 2 years, I'm happy to be back and to have produced a track. As always, this community feels like...home.
Big thanks to BJ and Richard for organizing this challenge!
And last but not least: I just uploaded the presets for my track to KVR (in case anyone is interested).
Have a great week and see you in the #188

I almost forgot to mention, I kinda thought ZioMau was going to win this one. Top Notch Spaghetti! Delicious!
And Kraftraum, nice to have you back, too! Feels like we're both blasts from the past.

Congratulations to all the winners. Jasinski's track was off the charts, but I had a bunch make it to my "OSC favorites" playlist. Some of those may not have charted quite a high but really connected with me. Thanks to everyone for the comments. A really great round!
And always thanks to RichardSemper and bjporter.

I would use Guanciale instead of Pancetta but maybe that's my problemZioMau wrote: Wed Oct 16, 2024 8:44 pm But I know you're only voting for me because I know how to actually make "spaghetti carbonara" and you want to know the truth about that![]()

This is a brilliant idea. I'd like to do this too..

Hey I remixed the track by BrainBeatMusic, sorry mate I couldn't help,
I liked your groove a lot for it has an African feel,
also liked some of the bells. But I felt I'd liked a different structure
of the song, also it missed (in my ear) a counter melody and the snare.
So here is my unauthorized remix. I hope someone will enjoy it.
https://soundcloud.com/liqih/unauthoriz ... usic-extra
Sounds added : 1 synth (just a single voice)
+ electro snare/clap
+ synth congas.
Remastered using EQ and Limiter.
Many thanks to BrainBeatMusic. (Please feel free to tell me if you
want me to remove it from SC)

Weird. I responded earlier with congratulations and the prize request but it didn't post!
Reposting now.
Congrats to Taron, Zio, Liqih, and SilverPants. I really thought Taron or Zio would take it this month. Everyone else did stunning work too. I can tell many hours went into this hobby of ours!
If I can ever be of service to anyone. Please reach out. I'd love to help in any way.
For the prize, I'm always impressed with Nusofting stuff. I'd like to try Synmad, if I may?
Thanks all!!
