Really? So we're just going to keep defending every odd decision NI makes, even when it’s clearly impractical? The workaround with 16 macros is not the same as having full control over the parameters of a synth. It's a stupid, cumbersome limitation, not a feature. Honestly, how defiant can someone be when they work for the company? When was the last time you actually tried making music? 25 years ago?
I think he's making a pretty valid point though. I can see instances where I would want to automate more than 16 parameters but that sort of shit makes a project absurdly messy so this isn't the end of the world.

But what I'd like is to open up MX to Bitwigs modulators. Not liking the random LFO in MX but having a Bitwig random preset that I use to get what I need, I just wish I could use it! I can on the macros though so whatever I guess.

Would be great to be able to run audio into MX.

My issue is not the macro system per say, it's the fact every preset has the filter, mods, envelopes etc on a different macro. It's such a design fail on the usability front. If they had at least forced preset designers to use some standard mappings it would be less of an issue.

Yes, there is no way to automate a parameter directly. And no, macros are not a substitute. That's why lots of synths have macros and parameter automation.

Because there is no direct parameter automation you cannot map it to a midi controller. You cannot assign a knob on your controller to cutoff. You have to assign your controller knob to an MX macro and then save every preset, one by one, with cutoff assigned to that macro in order to have that work. In most any other synth, it is a simple one step operation.

It's one of the stupidest decisions ever not to have parameter automation.
It takes Massive X to get you back at KVR! :hihi: I thought you migrated completely to Logic Pro and vanished :D

It's some u-he updates that brought me back to KVR. Then I made the mistake of looking around.

Still mostly using Bitwig... with Logic as backup :)

Question re: the performers. I've created a patch using the performers to create gate and melody. Set to trigger on note on. But the sequence always starts at about a third of the way through. I've tried to set up midi triggering in Bitwig but not getting far with this. Anyone have any insight?

Did you set the performers to launch with key? The little button next to the p1,p2,p3 that looks like a multi pane window.

It's like you're the cat in your icon, and they're waving a frilly pom-pom-on-a-stick in your face.

Anyway... moving thousands, even millions or trillions of parameters around at the same time is the stuff of legend. An AI should be able to do that no sweat as you sit back in your chair and marvel at the results as they play out in realtime...

...Moar oscillators!...

Yep, I did. Even sequences in other presets do the same thing. I wonder if it's a Bitwig thing. In Cubase I don't recall this issue.

I then tried to trigger it remotely which I presume is with the midi note you can set above the multi panel thing. Not luck. But I'm still finding routing midi in Bitwig sometimes confusing or unfamiliar at least.

Come to think of it, I may have been using a clip as opposed to piano roll in arrangement view, and I've noticed the clip launcher in Bitwig can be slightly out at times.

I would like to have a better or easier browser for the presets.

For me the synth is a bit complicated to use and understand. But it has some very amazing ready made presets so I don’t really need to “use” the synth so much.

I think the synth itself has very Massive potential:D

I thought it was a cat at first too but I'm pretty sure it's a bird? :D

Read the manual alongside learning the synth.
It takes one afternoon and a good coffee.

Parameter automation is essential for MIDI controller mapping. The best sounding synth with the worst workflow ever. I hope they at least fix that and opening times (very annoying).
