I am looking for a way to make my Tal U no lx an UHe Bazille presets NKS compatible to use with Machine 2 software.

I found a program called Preset Magician. Is there anyone here with experience with it or something similar.

I looked into that forum but it seems to be addressing the parameter
mappings for Komplete Kontrol. I havent read all the pages, just skimmed through. Does that discussion evolve into being able to browse presets in third party software that is not yet NKS compatible?

Ok I went a bit deeper. It does seem that the discussion goes beyond parameter mapping. It gets into preset and even third party hardware control.

So my take away here is that....yes it is possible for a user to modify files and create simple scripts to be able to have their Tal and Bazille presets show up in Machine 2 with tags. that info is somewhere in those 100 pages.

Saving the NKS file and the tagging is made in KK itself ( as well as the initial knob mapping), usually running a macro to move and click with the mouse in an automated fashion, just to speed it up if you need to save many.

Making of images and associated files is a separate debacle. It took me a while to wrap my head around it and there is no complete set of instructions.

Preset Magician was a program effort that became abandoned and put out as an open source, I do not know anything about how it works.

Hey RikkShow.

I continued on reading the NI forum. I have some clue now but the details are a little fuzzy. I bought some NKS packs from Freelance Soundlabs. They are a good value for what they are and the time and effort it takes to put them together. I also wanted to support the effort.

I did get PresetMagician to generate some things for me. Like you said, the images and mapping are a different bag. I am working on that now. Its seems you guys put in the time and the info in that forum. I just need to wrap my head around it. I dont have any hardware. I am using Machine 2 software.

Preset magician is still available and seems to work although a little bit "clunky"

Does this work with the latest KK update (which brings the VST3s)?

AFAIK PresetMagician only does VST2, and most NKS's made for VST2 will no open a VST3, so you have to redo all NKS for the VST3 version. There is more discussion about this over at the NI Forum.

Nope, biggest problem is it’s tied to the old VST2 NKS

Anyone with.....Preset Magician..... experience?
