Well I looked up how many there are it appears over 5,000 so it seems everybody has to have 'their own' genre these days... Not too impressed looking into some as they are like 'soundFX' genres not actual music or from a 'MUSE'... I am sure that there's a genre for hitting a metal garbage can lid with a dildo...

What's big right now is hypnotic techno. Been hearing a lot of DJs play on Hör at work.

i thought my answer was pretty clear, there's none!... Genre's are getting more watered down than family bloodlines with much more emphasis on 'FX' & not crafty musical work whatsoever... Seems like peeps don't wanna exert the brainpower to learn actual music but just bustout dabbling 'finger farts' with tons of FX which makes it 'soundFX' not music...
Hypnotic techno?... Titles to make it sound 'sexier'... i have listened to much 'melodic techno' & found no melodies but 'mild-riffing techno' does not sound as good reading it in a post...
this is all very similar to the insane CGI overload in so many movies pulling them through yet stories & plots are crapola. I would rather watch 'SlingBlade' over & over again & it has no FX...
It's a backwards world anymore...

what do you mean by electronic music?
are you strictly talking dance related? or is it more open?

sorry i apologize. i was acting dumb.
i'm open to anything as long as it's good LOL.
i'm clearly desperate for new styles of music for inspiration, though.
the 1990s was so hyped back in the day, everything was new and fresh.
even the early classic bassy dubstep times (before skrillex and brostep turned it all into treble) was fun.
i really yearn for stuff that completely wierds me out with musical pleasure
what have you got? (i'm like a musical junkie needing a stronger high LOL)

not sure about new genres, but former made some original stuff:
i wish there was more electronic music that keeps a rythm completely without drums, whichs sound goes into the direction of drum and bass, dubstep etc. synthwise...
and i found this album to be pretty original, even though it clearly uses the sounds of the 80s as basis:

Sadly, this site is no longer linked to Spotify as the developer no longer works there since the end of 2023, but its the most complete map of 6,921 genres
