Probably because it's a sub harmonic generator, and not a psycho acoustic bass enhancement processor. Different jobs, different strengths. though some of them have overlap like; Voxengo's LF Max Punch, Unfiltered Audio Bassmint and Leapwing Audio's Root One which do both tasks in the same plugin. all the rest here are MaxxBass/RBass adjacent, but none of em actually sound like either(Bassmint sounds really bad IMO)
Threat title says "best bass enhancement plugin" though, not "best psycho acoustic bass enhancement processor" and neither does the OP mention it in his post, so you're basically moving his goal post here.

And very few people mention it.

It’s very similar to the classic Waves MaxxBass, but for some reason I like it better. Sounds pristinely beefy to me on my Event Opal monitors.
Have they settled on a standard for buying plugins? Since they're a Russian company it seems like they changed how to purchase every month for a while there. It scared me I wouldn't be able to get updates to past purchases with them going through so many different payment processors/ways/layers to pay.

...and the post says: Looking to add some subtle harmonics and saturation to the low end, transparent as possible but with more control than R Bass offers.

That's basically "plugins like RBass/MaxxBass". So, no goalposts moved here from what I can tell.

...it also applies to pretty much any distortion plugin with multiband operation, like Saturn. Or the Saturation module that's built into Ableton Live.

And Submarine too... (one would think the "Drive"-knob kind of gives it away, right?)

It also applies to Submarine, so please keep the goal where it was.

Your suggestion was good and on point- my OP was quite vague and basically was after anything in the bass enhancement category.

Bass Focus is fantastic- I'm making a track using c0 which can sound very atonal/droney. I found that Bass Focus brought out some harmonics around 100hz and the bass really popped out. Especially good when tilted towards even harmonics.

Actually, their MaxBass and RennBass are psychoacoustic. Submarine is their more traditional bass enhancement plugin, as is LowAir.

I don't mind Submarine actually. I dont really know what their Organic Resynthesis is all about, it appears on a couple of plugins, but it does have a slightly more "natural" sound than my other alternatives. Though, they all still have their uses.

One of the best I've ever tried was Synthedit (I believe) and it was called Edge by Code Audio. I still have it but it's so old it works but the UI will freak if you try to tweak it while playing. You can still get it but it's only 32 bit

For what I do (mostly acoustic instruments) RBass has been the best for adding a bit more body at 50HZ. I use it lightly, but it does a thing that I haven't found a replacement for. The red clip light comes on way earlier than I would expect, so I'm always open to looking at other options.

Anyone liking/have tips using TDR Arbiter for bass enhancement/improvement? Dudes brought it up elsewhere and I started using it and it's kinda great on basslines but I don't really understand it yet.

Arbiter may be the best deesser ever made. Huge fan of that. So transparent

Brainworx just released bx_boom2. Can't say if it's "the best", as I've not had a chance to try it yet ...

I recently got Knorr by Klevgrand as an Rbass alternative.

Post

Klevgrand makes some great stuff. I found this plugin that's more of a bass amp,but it's very tweakable like a bass enhancer. I really like the sounds it puts out. United Plugins Bassment Core. Stripped down version of a bigger plugin. However there's so many parameters to tweak on it. Bigger version has a bunch of effects you can add.
