I have a pretty solid Ventura installation, with no real desire to update, however, I'm testing OWC's new Envoy Elite Thunderbolt 5 SSD and they tell me they need to install one of these to get it to show up on a Mac.
Yes, that's hardly backward compatible as T5 should be. Doesn't show up under Windows 11/Thunderbolt 4 either. Sheesh.
Regardless, what music software breaks under macOS 14/15, if any. I seem to remember some issues with older versions of Kontakt in my one attempt at 14. Anything else anyone has had issues with?
What breaks upgrading from Ventura to Mojave or Sequoia?

VPS avenger 2 doesn't works on Sequoia

It works for me but it’s using too much memory in Bitwig,which may be related to sequoia, I don’t know , but it works as expected in Fl Studio and Logic . I do realize Vengeance says there is a problem with Sequoia on their website Other than that I haven’t had any problems with Sequoia

For me when I load VPS it ask me to log in and when I log in it tells me that I have too much activations. It sounds like it could be the result of what they are talking about... I haven't wrote to support since I don't use that synth much... I'm just waiting for an update...

Oddly enough, with the exception of Kontakt 5, I've had no issues with music software. Paintbrush won't save, and Gimp throws some odd (non-fatal) error, but by and large it's fine. I don't find it any more useful, with the exception of it supporting the Thunderbolt 5 SSD I'm testing.

I accidentally upgraded from Ventura to Seqouia today. The only issue I had was that I needed to turn off iCloud sync and then re-enable it after Finder and Safari froze.
The problem I have is that everything in Documents is in iCloud, and it automatically duplicated the contents. Documents holds all the preset info for UAD, Fabfilter, Soniccharge, NI, IK and some others. So cleaning the duplicates up without losing anything is the only real issue I had so far.

The Documents folder automatically is enabled to backup to iCloud. I don’t really use it except for a few subfolders, so the smart thing would have been just to back-up those ones only. That’s my mistake for not considering this could happen.
This is bit of a mess now because my iMac has NI stuff for maybe 15 years of various iterations of things, so of which are not supported on Arm processors. It’s the iMac folder that replaced my MacBook Air content.
It’ll be simple to fix though. Tedious, but simple. I keep the MacBook content pretty light, so if there’s anything to delete and reinstall, it won’t be too bad.
