I have a Tascam DR-05 that dropped and lost the LCD. Everything works, I just can't see anything I'm doing so I'm basically stuck with using it as a microphone. I can record, but it's a little hard because I can't see the software controls.

Have you ever had one fixed? Do you know if it's possible to get a replacement LCD for such a specific piece of equipment?

From ifixit.com (thx, Edd1e & Jayeff)
The LCD screen is on a board with part number E95416100A.

There are no results when searching for the pcb part number.

As for the screen itself check on the back of the screen to see if there is any identifying information and search online using that information.

You could also use the schematics (DR-05_schematics.pdf) to test and see if the LCD screen is the problem or whether the problem is on the pcb. First check that all the screen’s connections to the pcb are OK just in case that is the problem.
That last thing is what I would do: gently take it apart, clean & reseat the screen connection, cross fingers it helps. If not, it's the bin alas.

Good luck with it!

Meh. I'm pretty sure it's done for unless the LCD can be replaced. It fell from 3 feet high onto a marble floor and now it looks like this:

There are youtube vids with how to use heated air and sometimes solder iron to repair lcd in various gear.
- heat is the important part here

I did successfully repair a calculator.

This zebra connector is a special kind of component, the long rubber kind tube for display over to circuit board.

Good luck....

If you can find the component part number, you can track down the factory in China that makes it. If you can get by the Chinese, you can order another directly.

Yes. The link provided by BertKoor has not only a link to the part in AliExpress but also to a long video with a guy taking the unit apart and replacing the screen step by step. A real gem. It seems I haven't thanked BertKoor properly. Thank you!!!
