Your plugins look quite cool actually. The Chorus Ensembler is very well done :tu:

Here's a 1-minute quick change with shadows. By no means perfect, but just wondered how it would change the look.

I usually do fake "3D" in Figma, it kinda works.

You can't possibly be this dumb!?

We talked about something entirely different ! :nutter:

Last time I post something about these pictures. I'm starting to regret I brought this up...

tbh, I don't get what you are talking about  are the pics similar?
If you scroll through our catalogue, you are going to find more pics like that one. On the plus, when I use that kind of picture, I usually place the plugin next to the real hardware we got.

Cheers,
Luca

found a way to keep the shadows in the bg render. v1.0.1 will have the updated UI. :tu:

Maybe he doesn't like that you both used Macbooks.

The laptop in a room with the plugin GUI open photo is pretty standard these days. And the plugin GUI's look similar because they model the same hardware. Just like two RE-201 emulations would. But that stuff is so super obvious. The studio monitors are different. So it's not that. It's gotta be the Macbook!

Yeah, it might be pure coincidence indeed - but certainly an eerie one in this case, I'd say... :-)

An exciting audio software dev goes to market with yet another exciting and likely great sounding audio tool...

and... the customer base gets to work on nit picking the GUI and the dev gets sucked into placating. Three pages into the thread no one has posted detailed opinions on how it sounds.

It really is the end of prioritizing making good music. RIP music. But I am sure it will look amazing! I can't wait to fire it up and stare at it.

Maybe my studio is just messy nowdays (with the baby arriving) and making a good shot is difficult ;)

Going back to serious stuff.. here's a quick A/B comparison between Space Age 555 and the real unit we have. Be aware for the loud feedback loops around 1 minute.

Lotuz2019 wrote: Fri Oct 25, 2024 5:42 am There's one practical thing about the GUI I'd like to request. When you turn Repeat Rate with Sync on, it shows the delay time signature. When you turn Repeat Rate with Sync off, it doesn't show the delay time (ms). You need to move the cursor to the Mode Selector to see the delay time. Below the Mode Selector there is room for a display of the delay times. This would also make it instantly clear which heads are selected. Or if you don't want to mess with the design, you could add the heads delay times in the footer on the left or right side of the FULL STEREO button.
Agree with this request. I was tripped up by the delay value being in two different places too.

Luca, thanks for the A/B. Love to see/hear that!

I think this sounds fantastic.

I had a lot of fun back in the day with the real one and this hits the mark perfectly.

wayford wrote: Fri Oct 25, 2024 5:49 am Minor nitpick, btu I still can't quite understand why this UI decision was made: why do the knobs on some Audiority plugins have no shadows? It just looks a bit strange.
Because I suck at 3D?

EDIT: found a way to keep the shadows in the bg render. v1.0.1 will have the updated UI.
Would be nice to have this fix also applied to the other plugins with this problem.

@Luca:

Three questions:

1) Is the SOS head supposed to be less loud than heads 1 - 3? Even with Intensity and Volume all the way up the repeats die out quickly.

2) Shouldn't OUTPUT only adjust the level without sounding distorted at higher levels?

3) When more than one head is selected, the volume drops. Does that happen with the hardware too?

Question 1) is related to 3) btw. The volume of the SOS head depends on which Echo head is selected.

Hello
Glad to see the Re501 in plugin form 😀
Is the sound on sound loop length increased compared to the original hardware?

Post

Interesting difference between the RE-201 and the RE-501/SRE-555. The spring reverb of the 201 doesn't sound on the repeats, but the spring reverb of the 501/555 apparently does (which I prefer).

A pre/post swirch would be nice. Just put one 555 with just the spring reverb enabled before another instance of the 555 with just the echo enabled. Sounds different than a 555 with both echo and spring reverb enabled. A bit more lofi and dreamy, taming those higher frequencies.
