Synthmaster is certainly very powerful and great value, however the GUI is not very intuitive and I tend to avoid using it as a result. It seems to take forever clicking around to do what you want if you haven't actually made a point of studying it diligently. Also most of the presets have loads of detune and reverb effects which I don't find at all useful or inspiring for my music. Synthmaster one on the other hand I find much more useful and easier to use. I only recently got around to playing with it and am surprised I overlooked it for so long

Are you referrring to SynthMaster 2 or SynthMaster 3? Which action, for instance, takes forever clicking around? Could you please give an example ?

Are you sure you checked out the new SynthMaster 3 presets? When you switch to the preset browser tab, please make sure you filter by SynthMaster 3 presets:

No.

It's an amazing synth which takes some getting used to. I think I'd find the UX frustrating if I wasn't 'fluent' in Falcon. Clickery and menu diving is something I can deal with. I still don't feel like the current iteration is stable enough for me to use, so I've reinstalled Phase Plant and will probably just use that instead.

I love SM3 so far, but I can't figure how to use properly the VA Analog oscs... I watched an official video, but I guesss I missed something, can't seems to load factory waveforms... maybe I should RTFM

Are you referring to the drill down menus to select waveforms / wavetables / samples ?

I am planning to add a browser window to make that workflow easier.

Also, to make it easier to navigate between tabs (synth modules / modulation sources), I added a "Show" icon to easily select the tab you'd want to switch to:

I was really looking forward to the loading of presets into layers but so far I mostly failed.

Logic for me would be:

- loading a preset

- adding a layer

- opening the browser, preview a sound I like, right mouse button, load into layer 2

Mostly for me that leads preset one in layer one been overwritten from preset 2

I dont know if my logic is wrong or whatever but would be great to have an explanation (short video ?) for it.

I will look into the workflow you described, but just try loading the preset into a new layer instead:

Thanks, would be great if you could look into it, I just dont find a way working 100 %, not sure if its my mistake. I have tried the "new layer" too but mostly it just overwrites the existing layer.

Here's how you can load preset for the VAnalog osc:

And also had some confusion with the basic osc menu, having to go through three sub folders to get to the standard basic types, with initial ones apparently not standard square/saw etc. I still feel like I must be missing something.
I am addressing this issue by adding a new resource browser to find/load/favorite waveforms/wavetables/samples/multisamples. Default Saw and Saw are different as you pointed out. When I first released SynthMaster 2.5, the default saw/tri/sqr waveforms were samples from DSI Mopho synth, and there are thousands of presets that use default waveforms. So I didn't touch them. But you don't have to use them, yo can just switch to Square/Saw Up/Saw Down/Triangle which are ideal bandlimited waveforms:

I think you are referring to SynthMaster 2, which is the older version of SynthMaster 3. Have you checked out version 3 yet?

I still couldn't get an answer to my question. which action takes forever clicking ? like cycling through waveforms/wavetables/samples? I am addressing this issue in our upcoming 3.1 update:
