Excuse me everyone but could someone tell me how do I go about becoming a buyer here I was recommended this site by an acquaintance awhile ago as a place for finding “cool” stuff secondhand you could purchase.
Having said that I do think of it as being more then that after scrolling through a few forums it looks like a cool site to me I’m just completely confused on how it works, sorry if this isn’t supposed to be asked here.

Participate in the forum so that people know you better.

Still, it's no guarantee that you can buy or sell something. We've seen a lot here, and the crowd is a tough (also experienced) one.

I for one only sell to users (or buy from) that I 'know' and I guess I'm not alone with my rules.

Btw, have a look into this subforum: viewforum.php?f=43

Pay attention to "Buying and selling more safely" and "Feedback Thread".

Oh I didn’t know you’ve got to be sociable to be a buyer here they failed to tell me that part, so do I just find random groups and just talk to them then until someone maybe decides to sell to me then?

Also thank you for replying I wasn’t sure anyone would answer.

It may sound more harsh than it is.

But, you know, it's the interweb.

When you buy something, the seller has to provide - at least - his/her email address upfront.

Not everyone wants to do this. And I fully understand.

Oh I didn’t that that private stuff like that had to be given out, I mean I’m cool with following the rules and all I’m just used to being a wall flower though this site is kinda neat to me, but another things a bit confusing to me is the 14 day thing do I have to wait that long to be able to interact and stuff or Is that just for purchases and selling stuff purposes?

Post

Let me ask one thing, actually two things: What do you want to buy? And why?

Post

I kinda well I did miss the summer of sound sale and was seeking to find a slightly older Komplete select 12 license to try and upgrade to Komplete standard 12 I heard how great Komplete is and wanted to give it an decent shot but its currently out of my range so to speak, thanks for asking sorry if I’m bothering you.

Post

No, you're not bothering.

First: Use the search function of the "Sell & buy"-forum and check if there's an offer addressing your request. If there is one, contact the seller.

If there's no offer, post your demand with the leading shortcut "WTB:" which means "want to buy".

Then you may find what you want. Or not. It depends.

Good luck!

Thank you so much kind stranger for info you shared have a blessed day friend.

interacting you can do straightaway, like here, hello :)
buying, people like to feel youre not just here to buy, or worse, scam people. not saying you are of course, just what people are wary of, if you make a few posts over that time, asking about relevant things, even answering questions, so long as people feel you are someone interested in the subject here, they are more likely to purchase.
people who dont engage for example, maybe dont care about soft synths, so are maybe here to scam, why would you be here if you had no interest?

hope that makes sense.
welcome!

Hello, that makes plenty of sense I was originally led to believe that it was just a place to buy and sell but after browsing through a bit I discovered there is more to it than what I originally perceived, and I kinda like it here though being sociable isn't my thing I think I may be willing to do so here as so far the people here seem far more friendly then one's I've dealt with in previous sites long past, initially I was worried about being scammed myself but decided to take a leap of faith on here but this place is actually cool beyond buying and selling to me now for sure. :)

they do their best here to avoid scams, although there have been a few over the years, no system is "perfect" sadly. so you should be safe really, just check that the seller has been a member for a while, has a presence here, so then you know they are a regular member :)

good luck finding what you want :)

as buyer you should not have any problems if you buy from users who have good feedback on here.
and when selling, just make sure to receive the money first and dont use paypal friends&family.
you could also offer to proceed the transaction via knobcloud.com - there you have a buyers and sellers protection system.

Is it possible for the seller to contact new user without the user having 5 messages?
