I've modified SynthCrafts feedback limiter to prevent overloading the audio buffer.
So far its working well. For example I can feed the output of a filter directly back into itself for some serious overdrive/distortion madness

Panic button would probably be desirable in any case, as it is a universal solution against many problems, and existing and known, and perhaps not yet found.

The audio On/Off button on the toolbar acts as a panic button.
When switched it clears out audio buffers and flushes the midi data stream.
