Interesting. How did you install them?bmanic wrote: Sun Oct 27, 2024 12:12 am I also don't have any issues with UA connect. I don't even have it installed and all my plugins work just fine without it. This is on Mac.
Maybe it's because I keep all my licenses on a iLok 3 dongle?

I've had issues updating UA Connect, just uninstall and reinstall. If you find it too intrusive, you can rename the exe, also disable auto start.
Previous poster mentioned renaming executable.

Even if that does the trick after all:The Noodlist wrote: Sun Oct 27, 2024 8:26 am I've had issues updating UA Connect, just uninstall and reinstall. If you find it too intrusive, you can rename the exe, also disable auto start.

Why would I go to the length of wading through all this shit just in order to be able to use the stuff when there's so much great competition around that just works?
Are people being plugin-masochists? Is that a new thing? Personally I prefer to make music instead, but that's just me...

I'd rather use them, I find them to be among the best, I use the 1176 Collection and LA2A. I've had a few minor issues with UA connect, I've had a lot more issues with Waves Central.jens wrote: Sun Oct 27, 2024 12:03 pmEven if that does the trick after all:The Noodlist wrote: Sun Oct 27, 2024 8:26 am I've had issues updating UA Connect, just uninstall and reinstall. I recently uninstalled/deleted T-Racks5 (except Tapes), tried the Slate, PSP, Waves, McDSP, Analog Obsession, Softube etc. UAD for workflow and quick results, not keen on WUP and all the other Waves' processes running background, though I like the CLA76.
I don't think so.Are people being plugin-masochists?

I have so many 1176 and La2a (or similar) emulations already that I've been using for years...
the IK La2a has been my most used GoTo compressor for such a long time but these days I often use the ACME Opticom instead which is similar but more flexible and somehow often suits my taste just a tad more these days... I really know the sound and the UAD (the one that was free) didn't manage to add anything that would have got me excited - and certainly it didn't add anything that would make me jump through hoops, not even for a free plugin. It certainly imo can't compete with the Opticom.

The plugin interface is blurred. This means it hasn’t found an iLok license, so it’s asking you to run UA Connect so it can install the license for you.jens wrote: Sun Oct 27, 2024 1:13 pmNo, it's because I removed UA Connect from my system.Alexander_D wrote: Sun Oct 27, 2024 12:36 pm That's probably because UA Connect need an internet....

Yes, exactly this, which is the very problem I was talking about.PAK wrote: Sun Oct 27, 2024 2:30 pmThe plugin interface is blurred. You don't need UA Connect installed. But you do need the iLok License Manager installed. As long as the license is on your system UA Connect is NOT required. It's just a way to update plugins and install licenses. Everything else is done via iLok. So your issue is not that you don't have UA Connect installed. It's that you don't have an iLok license on your machine.jens wrote: Sun Oct 27, 2024 2:36 pm Yes, exactly this, which is the very problem I was talking about.
