I'll definitely be selling my v1 next year to upgrade, hoping for $400 - $500 at that point since it's in mint condition with the box, etc.

That’s a pretty serious update! I love that they’ve expanded it beyond the FM engine.

This is very exciting. Im about 10 months into my Syntakt, and this purchase was my first Elektron purchase and it blew my mind. I love it, and I cant wait to acquire another Elektron box, but all these "V 2s" suddenly releasing tells me I should probably wait for Syntakt2. Digitone2 seems great, and familiar!

Yeah, I'm now waiting to hear about a Syntakt 2, although there was a nice update for the Syntakt recently. The other boxes don't interest me.

I don’t know, it was a long wait between the Digitakt v1 and v2 and Digitone v1 and v2. With the Syntakt still being relatively new and just getting a big update, I’d expect to see mk3 versions of the RYTM, Analog Four, and/or Octatrack or even v2 of the Model series before we see a Syntakt v2.There’s also still the rumored Tonverk….

Pretty sure Elektron shot down the "tonverk" rumors. They published a press release the other day that says they build many prototypes all the time, and this was just one of them.cryophonik wrote: Tue Oct 29, 2024 12:36 am I don’t know, it was a long wait between the Digitakt v1 and v2 and Digitone v1 and v2. I would definitely look at the mk3 versions of RYTM, Analog4, Octa if they release anytime soon. Syntakt really makes me crave more of what Syntakt does, but some of the other Elektron boxes have overlapping character and I will also be open to one of the others if I could fit it in my workflow.
I would really like the 128 step sequencer on Syntakt, and a lot of my desire for Syntakt2 would be satisfied by that improvement alone. I would be willing to sacrifice sound pool or project memory space for 128 steps if it were possible on my Syntakt.

I’m not sure if they actually shot it down, or just tried to divert attention away from it with more or less a “pay no attention to that man behind curtain” statement. I mean, maybe it will never see the light of day, but the message from Elektron was just vague enough that it could go either way. Time will tell…Milkman wrote: Tue Oct 29, 2024 8:25 pm Pretty sure Elektron shot down the "tonverk" rumors. That could very well be true (that they are diverting attention).cryophonik wrote: Tue Oct 29, 2024 11:43 pmI’m not sure if they actually shot it down, or just tried to divert attention away from it with more or less a “pay no attention to that man behind curtain” statement. I have a feeling the mk3 won't happen and they will eventually sunset those in favor of some new line of larger form factor/flagship boxes. Maybe similar to that tonverk prototype in layout.Milkman wrote: Tue Oct 29, 2024 8:25 pmI would definitely look at the mk3 versions of RYTM, Analog4, Octa if they release anytime soon. I caved and just preordered a Digitone II from Control Voltage. It is my first hardware toy since last spring. I am not sure if I am going to sell or keep my OG unit. I am going to use it in combo mode, both MIDI and sounds.

After you've had it a bit, post here what you think.Gribs wrote: Sun Nov 03, 2024 5:12 pm I caved and just preordered a Digitone II from Control Voltage. I can't see why I'd keep my original one once I'm able to replace it with v2, space not withstanding. That's also where I'd get it from, like v1, unless I can get a better price at Perfect Circuit.

I will try to remember to do that. I order stuff from Perfect Circuit if it is not available elsewhere. Buying from Control Voltage is like buying a car from out of state. The sales tax in my California county is 10.25 percent, so Perfect Circuit’s ten percent off sales don’t even make up the tax. Sometimes they do have items on sale for mor than 10 percent off, though.vitocorleone123 wrote: Mon Nov 11, 2024 2:48 pmAfter you've had it a bit, post here what you think.Gribs wrote: Sun Nov 03, 2024 5:12 pm I caved and just preordered a Digitone II from Control Voltage.
