FX is the least important. You can add any FX at your will in your DAW on your own.

I don't have any plans to add more. I added the Moog Ladder Filter because the high end can get quite harsh (and who doesn't love resonance) and the compressor to ensure that the volume leaving the plugin doesn't escape a normalized range. These two effects took less than two hours to implement so it seemed a good use of time. However any other effects I intend to leave to other plugins.

I would like to see longer maximal envelope times, perhaps 5s or even 10s for attack, decay and release. Probably switchable between "normal" (as they are now) and "slow" (longer maximum time) envelopes. Am I the only person here to think that 1s maximum time for an envelope decay is way too short?
Another interesting fact (maybe a bug): If I hold a key, the sound cannot completely vanish, even if the sustain level is at its lowest.
Except for the envelope feeling somewhat weird and unusual, I like Terrain the way it is.

You seem to be in good company regarding the envelope ranges. I set the ranges to what I deemed practical, but the majority has spoken. Right now the lowest sustain is -24dB. If I keep this slider logarithmic it will never reach 0.0, but I'll get it closer. I'm releasing again tomorrow - I'll have expanded ranges for that. Thank you!

Version 1.2.1 is out!

Changes include Micro/Macrotonality via MTS-ESP, Expanded ADSR ranges, and Note Velocity driven Trajectory amplitude.

Thank you all for your input.

Thanks for expanding the ADSR ranges. Just checked the new version. The envelopes sound so much better with this change.

What is the Note On/Continuous parameter in the upper part of the window in the new version for? It's a circle-like "thing" with a checkbox-like value that doesn't refer to any parameters that are exposed to the DAW.

I just did a short demo tune using a single instance of Terrain with the improved envelope. The new version allows me to pull a somewhat convincing e-piano out of this synth... wouldn't have been possible with the old envelope.

Raw Terrain, no further audio processing.

These updates are great!
I haven't tried 1.2.1 yet - but 1.1.0 is back to the weird thing where if you save the settings as a Reaper preset - then nothing else works (pitch bend, randomisation etc).
As long as you just load Terrain presets to start with - then everything is fine.

That circle is an LED indication that the plugin is connected to an MTS-ESP client; if it's on it indicates that the change in tuning is linked. The toggle indicates of tuning will change only on note-on or if it will be able to glide throughout a tuning change. Thanks for letting me know that it's unclear - I'll add some labeling in a patch update. At some point in the future these settings will be placed in a "Settings" menu where I'll have much more screen real estate.

That will likely happen in 1.2.1 also then. I didn't check reaper preset savings for regression issues with 1.1.0 - I'll look in to it and have a fix in the next patch, thank you!

Sounds great, thank you!

I found the presets (C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Roaming\Aaron Anderson\Terrain) and they automatically sort themselves alphabetically - bravo!
This is the best way (individual xml files) to store presets IMHO ;)

Thank you! It was difficult work.

Terrain steals keyboard input,at least in Bitwig. Cardinal does the same thing and it makes it very tedious to use without a MIDI keyboard, which I don’t always feel like using. otherwise this is very cool

When you say 'steals keyboard input' you're referring to the ascii keyboard not the midi keyboard right? I've added this to my todo list, thank you for bringing it to my attention.
