Basically "yes"
But it is not only me, the developer but all the people that are required if you have to fix a critical bug. Like testers, quality assurance, deployment engineers, infrastructure team, support staff etc.

Digital Performer does all the Plug Search stuff natively FYI.qtheerearranger wrote: Tue Oct 08, 2024 10:43 am Imo Apple should just buy plug search. It would be the Apple way.
But yes plug search 4 is so good that you really should get it if they don’t do it themselves next drop.

So they should just buy DP and be done with it.machinesworking wrote: Fri Nov 01, 2024 2:34 pmDigital Performer does all the Plug Search stuff natively FYI.qtheerearranger wrote: Tue Oct 08, 2024 10:43 am Imo Apple should just buy plug search. It would be the Apple way.

It's my oldest DAW, and I still use it the most. I feel like the last man standing around here sometimes.revvy wrote: Fri Nov 01, 2024 7:15 pm Everyone should try DP, at least once.
And machinesworking seems to be quite a proponent of DP.
I also used Logic exclusively for 9 years so I often check up on Logic in KVR threads.
I'm actually kind of shocked the search functions aren't there in Logic? IMO it will come the way Live 12 is doing it with AI etc. to help out similarity searches etc. DP's versions are in three separate places: a plugin chooser, an arrangement track sorter/hider, and a dedicated search window that does things like "select the third beat in every other measure" etc.

Logic doesn't have similarity searches yes but it does have filters on its searches which I still personally find incredibly useful. I don't use logic rn but when I did I would click the + in the file browser near the search bar add 3 name contains things (you can add 2 more with the plus next to the first name contains). IMO this is really good and is the default of ableton live + bitwig but where logic comes into play is you can set it to name doesnt contain filter and have it with another name contains filter if you want to ignore certain sample packs or ignore stuff with the word loop in it if your seeking one shots etc.
If they are on a ≈6 month release schedule or not, we will find out in the coming weeks. They need to deliver to their ipad subscription logicios base id imagine at the very least.

Tangent : I use Logic and Live. I realise these things can change but the current pricing models of these two DAWs makes me so happy I didn’t go with something like Studio One. My God, read the thread about the latest S1 version and shudder.
(Obviously I realise that nobody’s got pockets as deep as Apple and that Logic drives Mac sales)

I must admit Digital Performer seems to have evolved into a very capable host but it's just so expensive to get into, even the competitive cross grade is still close to £400
Plus the built in instruments don't seem to have changed much since version 1

Yeah their pricing like Cubase has remained $500, $400 with the the crossgrade. It's not the worst. I bought Live back when you could get it for $300 or less in 03. I couldn't imagine the stress of trying to get Suite now if you were a new user. I really thought when Logic dropped to $200 that the rest would drop to close to that price, but nope.aMUSEd wrote: Sun Nov 03, 2024 12:45 pm I must admit Digital Performer seems to have evolved into a very capable host but it's just so expensive to get into, even the competitive cross grade is still close to £400

In terms of instruments and fx I have over 500 in my Components folder, to me the most useful ones are the bread and butter samplers in Logic. Beyond that since I've also owned Live the entire time it's inconvenient to have to use different ones in each DAW. That said, Logic, Reason and Live Suite all have enough FX and instruments to never use AU/VSTs if one wanted to. MOTU partnered with UVI to make MachFive and when that contract ended UVI took it back to make Falcon. I would consider that a "must buy" with DP.

The only features I really want/need at this point are plugin search and an overhauled Loop Browser. Hoping for a pleasant surprise.

i really wonder if requesting pluginseaech is a kvr plugin collectors phenomenon or not... i have the feeling the biggest part of logic users staying silent and working with stock tools and max. a handful of 3rd party plugins. but who knows
i personally want them to redo old guis (sculpture, ultrabeat, delay designer, the vocoder synth, ring shifter)!

Be careful what you wish for. I'm dreading the day they bring the gui in line with the iPad versionyoursoul wrote: Sun Nov 03, 2024 2:59 pm I personally want them to redo old guis (sculpture, ultrabeat, delay designer, the vocoder synth, ring shifter)!

oh, i only saw it on some screenshots and actually think it wouldnt be that bad. it just looks very minimal and clean. dont know... somehow i liked it even?el-bo (formerly ebow) wrote: Sun Nov 03, 2024 3:14 pmBe careful what you wish for. but one thing annoys me: the new guis mostly have menus (for example to choose filter type) that open by clicking on it and then you pick one, the menu closes.. there are no switch-buttons to skip through them, also not possible to scroll through them by hovering over it. i suspect it has something to do with that they are built for ideal ipad experience. on the desktop...its a bit clunky.
