Installed 5.2.5 Problems continue. And disables my separate installation of 4.4.10 Support instructs to completely remove everything and start over. Spent a couple of hours getting it to recognize my controllers and new audio interface (Mackie).
GUI is stuck in the middle and won't go full screen. Lets me in Settings once and won't let me back in after returning to tracks. Mouse works on some things and is completely ignored on others. Plugin patches often don't save in projects and on opening projects it now says some plugins are missing (when they're not). Will not shut down by any method other than an "End Task" in Task Manager. This is the worse thing I've spent money on this year.

I'm on 5.2.5, Windows 11 (with most current updates). Over the past two days I've had significant issues with several plugins crashing constantly. It started with Harmony Bloom and Playbeat 3, which seemed to improve after I reinstalled the most current version of the Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable (available at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/w ... w=msvc-170).

Then I downloaded the newly-released Bettermaker C502V from Plugin Alliance, and while I can instantiate the plugin, if I attempt to move any parameter, open the preset menu, or click anywhere on the plugin GUI, it crashes every time. Reinstalling the C++ redistributable doesn't seem to have any impact.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? Is it a Bitwig issue, a Windows issue, a plugin issue, something caused by Halloween? 🎃

I contacted Bitwig and so far all they've offered is to contact the plugin developers.

Thanks for any help!

Bitwig has been always sensitive with plugin, long loading and crash over and over.
Everything work smoothly since I switch to Cubase.

Personally, I have switched to AB Live. I might sell my license soon.

If I can't sell it in two weeks, I'll keep it. It is working fine with me if I use my Steinberg IXO22 audio interface, or I use Tascam but run Reaper after quitting Bitwig to clean the memory garbage (or whatsoever) that Bitwig left behind that makes my Tascam driver stuck!

The main reason I kept Bitwig is because I was trying to use Linux. Now, after I read that Linux kernel maintaining is being politicized, I lost trust in Linux (and open source in general). It seems nothing is out of control of politics! So, I'm returning to Windows/Mac world which I have better alternatives than Bitwig.

Then save the effort to create a selling thread... if you don´t plan to sell it ridiculous cheap there is no chance!
I have since 2 month now the offer out for latest Bitwig + a new serial for a year of upgrades for 200,-€ which is 50% off and actually far more flexible than the Bitwig offer and got ZERO responses...

I just keep it now as I won´t lower the price...
I guess the Splice rent-to-own with 2 years of updates included just kills the 2nd hand market...

Maybe they get it right and it will be more interesting in the future... the upgrade serial doesn´t expire afaik so I have time... :tu:

Studio one resale price Has also tanked with their latest Move.

I do love Bitwig and use it daily but i have experienced things i don't like so much after the V5 Release.

I get Lots of random Crashdumps that fills the Hdd.
The program runs fine and don't give me any warnings so it silently puts it's complaints in these Folders. "C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\CrashDumps".
"C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportArchive".

The other thing that annoys me is that Bouncing a Track on my multitimbral HW used to work as it should in V4 Where it disabled the other tracks that was not selected for bouncing and after V5 was Released that function got broken and it Bounces all the Tracks that uses the same audio input no matter what is selected so i have to manually disable the other tracks before i right click and select bounce to the track i want to print as audio.

Bouncing works perfect in Studio one just like it did in Bitwig V4 but Studio One has it's own kind of weird problems with HW Like weird latency problems when i dial in the Manual Midi delay on a Track.
Bitwig has automatic Delay Compensation for Audio so i don't have to do anything and it is always on the beat which is why i still use it with my HW since it is Rock solid with my HW Setup so i have learned to live with the Audio bounce workaround.

I hope everyone here is not letting up on support to fix these issues and get it right. I get tired of them trying to insist I'm the only one having issues. And currently they seem to be trying to blame video cards, drives and other hardware instead of their app. Which I keep reminding them that their the only software on my systems having these issues.

Yes, sometimes it seems they are living in their own little imaginery bubble and have lost contact to the real world...

So don't let up on them. We need to be the united force that makes them fix it.

What video card do you have? They switched significant processes to graphics card (don’t know the details) in version 5. So maybe they are right that there is a conflict between your card and their software (it doesn’t mean your system is faulty!).

Nvidia NVS 310. They've recanted it shouldn't be the problem but they insist on making everything too old for them to really be sure. They've even suggested that my class compliant Studiologic and Crumar controllers are the problem. Meanwhile 4.4.1 worked great (until this last update also decided to uninstall it). I would think they could do a code comparison to see what they're doing different that makes it hang on exit. BTW, this last version IS working better than all the previous version 5's. This is not the time to let up on them though.

Edit/add: Apparently CTRL+Q seems to be exiting without issue for now. Shutting down elsewise still hangs. And audio engine on the Mackie driver quits properly too. Although I've had to readjust all settings to add track to a 0db volume instead of a -10db I had it set to before. And that still doesn't give me the volume I'm use to. (Very low output now.) I did change out the USB hub and downgraded it from USB 3 to USB 2 at their request also. Weird they want me to update to the latest tech on some things while asking me to downgrade to older technology on others...

Man! This is old and underpowered. I would definitely replace it with at least AMD RX 6600, which is with very reasonable price now.

As more and more DAWs relay on graphics cards, you’ll have problems with most new releases. My PC is about 3 years old and I’m thinking it’s time to have new PC! Anyway, regarding Bitwig, I have only one problem with it regarding my Tascam interface but my main problem is workflow in arrangement view. It’s not bad, but I prefer other DAWs which are miles ahead.

Yeah, I think I'm falling back on Cubase 13 more because of these issues. But I'm now missing certain things "flow-wise" I had got used to in Bitwig. Given the way things are being pushed by the companies I find it odd that the latest Cubase has no problem with my systems and Bitwig. And that in all my correspondence with Bitwig, they won't even acknowledge Steinberg by name. Hmm.

Like I added in my previous post, Bitwig5 IS working closer to what it did before. Ths upgrade has me swamped in lists I didn't have to deal with before though. I'm sure others find what they added in that respect better, but it makes things slower and tedious for me.
