I'm quite excited for this update.

There are two kinds of people in the world. And you're not one of them.

Will there be normal automation ? :)

Post

They charge for an update and Akai are giving a free upgrade to v3 of their software.
The akai upgrade is great as well, a complete change to the software, not just tinkering like machine is.
Mac mini m4 pro, Reaper, too many plugins, Modal Argon8, Novation Circuit Mono Station and now a lovely Waldorf Blofeld.

Post

Yes , Akai is on the right track . The MPC One+ looks interesting . Native Instruments should make it free for Maschine owners . Now the new added content or packs NO .

Post

I hope one can change this pitch black theme!

Native did survey a few months ago about new features in Maschine, but as i remember, there was no question about automation. Correct me if i'm wrong.

Looks like the headline for the update is stem separation, very late to the party! A 'basic' MK3 integration- come on NI....
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Post

I try to avoid the drama and witch hunts on KVR. I am pissed that they have made my Komplete Kontrol MK2 keyboard obsolete. That was an expensive controller and supposed to be central to the NI ecosystem when launched and saw almost zero development and integration enhancements with Maschine over the product lifecycle. I have a MK III Maschine and usually upgrade my hardware when the option exists. I won’t this time. NI has lost me as a customer.

NI had something going.

Was it on Maschine forum ? I'm curious to see what was in that survey...

Once again another major upgrade to Maschine and it still does only one time signature in a project. :dog:

what do you mean ? you can change the time signature in each pattern

Post

Yes but then that changes the time signature of the whole project.
What he is asking for, what many of us have asked for for years is to have say scene 1 in 4/4, scene 2 in 3/4 etc..So there can be several time signatures used in the project...

If you know how to do this, please tell us how.

Exactly, you get a mind boggling mess in Maschine when you write a song in multiple time signatures. I typically will write a song with maybe two or so parts in an odd time signature, but at some point it will go into 4/4 or 3/4, if it's 9/8 it's a nightmare.

I used Maschine for years as a VSTi in DAWs but even then the abrupt changes to the entire timeline switching from 9/8 to 4/4 meant that any update could break this, so I ended up porting all MIDI into the DAW, and at the point, what is the point of using Maschine? I can't use it without pain in standalone, and I can't use it without stress as a plugin.

Post

I've found it helps sometimes if you keep the denominators the same. i.e. Switching from 9/8 to 8/8.
