When dropping midi from a vst, you get the midi drop dialog, but, you don't get the option to replace any midi already there.

Without meaning to take away from my expressed hope a few posts back about need related to individual controller events in RC, I'd like to add another possibility for how RC could support a specific style of MIDI CC drawing.

RapidComposer v5.4b6 is available!

You'll find only bug fixes in this update.

Improvements:

• [macOS] the AI chat window is not opened on fullscreen when the application window is fullscreen
• Fixed: sometimes chord-relative notes became absolute notes (around C-1) in the AI chat window
• Fixed scrolling in the AI chat window
• Fixed crash when changing the Expectedness slider in the Rhythm Lab editor

What about adding a tab to the browser for audio?

Good idea, but I'd rather extend the file browser, which currently does not show information about mp3/FLAC/OGG files.
The file browser should have presets (folder names + file types in a menu) so that you can quickly select which file collections you want to browse, and switch between collections.

I am glad you mention Fyler which I just uploaded a new version of. I found the hopefully last bug that jeopardized stability. Maybe it would make sense to integrate it into RC, for browsing MIDI and audio files.

Yes.!!

Though depending on how the data displays here (due to physical space constraints), it might get awkward having to keep sliding/resizing the window back and forth, selecting between browser tabs etc... But will be interesting to see what you can do.!

I like it very much too! I'll start working on it soon, in about 3 weeks. I will need your input about how the UI should work. I imagine that a pop-up layer would appear after selecting a few chords, where you can do all sorts of things with the chords, e.g. add a 7th note for each chord, or remove the root note, etc.

Hi Bob,

you are perfectly right, searching does not work well in the file browser. The reason is that subfolders are scanned on demand. By default the browser has no knowledge about files in the folders, unless you open them. To be able to search in subfolders, all the files and folders should be scanned. I am fixing this at the moment. It will scan everything if you initiate a search.

Yes, I am aware, the browsers need some love... they were worked on for a long time.

I am happy to hear it! Hijacking is no problem for me at all.
