Hello everyone,
This is Moe from time off audio, and I’ve just released my first plugin, dime [tt].
The plugin splits signals into their transient and tonal components (hence the ‘tt’) and lets you load effects plugins of your own onto each side of the split. It’s a simple utility but you can change how it detects transients with sensitivity and decay controls, and you can balance between both splits to even use it as a simple transient shaper.
There’s a mix control for each strip of plugins, you can audition each side of the split, and you can switch the plugin between dark and light modes. I’ve put a lot of effort into the plugin scanning process, which sandboxes the scanning process for each plugin, ensuring that any misbehaving plugins do not affect the stability of the overall scan.
dime [tt] is out today for $30 (early bird pricing until 1st December, after which $35). It runs as a VST3 or AU plugin, and it can host VST3 and AU plugins.
You can find out more at my website: https://timeoff.audio

Interesting concept, congrats! (And another one joining the moonbase club
)
Just FYI: the /products/%23breakdown page ('learn more') creates an ugly 404.
As a customer, videos or audio snippets would be great to see on the website. Are those coming?

Haha, thanks! Glad you're into it.Zoopy wrote: Wed Nov 06, 2024 6:30 pm holy f**k this is awesome
would love to see mousewheel support in the plugins being hosted, I'm sure that is difficult but just something I noticed.
Can you give me an example of a plugin you're having trouble with regarding mouse support?
Yeah, keyboard/mouse management between OS/DAW/plugins is particularly challenging. Would love to get it right though

Have you seen the videos section on the landing page? There's quite a few examples of how dime [tt] can be used in different mixing and sound design situations.sascha wrote: Wed Nov 06, 2024 3:31 pm As a customer, videos or audio snippets would be great to see on the website. Are those coming?
There's this one I made:
Will definitely add more as new features get added and I release new versions though for sure.

Mousewheel just doesn't work in plugins like Fabfilter Pro-Q (q size) or Infiltrator (for menus)timeoffaudio wrote: Wed Nov 06, 2024 6:46 pm

Particularly impressed w the transient/sustain algorithm in this plugin. Really fun putting fx on the vocal snippets of a breakbeat and chaos on the transients

I do something like this using Melda Productions MXXX, nice to see it simplified in a more affordable plugin. Good luck.

Ah, now I can see it. Maybe it's because of your site editing but scrolling down didn't reveal the videos before here... strange but now they're there. Nice ones, especially that one from Rhys.timeoffaudio wrote: Wed Nov 06, 2024 6:51 pm Have you seen the videos section on the landing page? Nice workflow and simplicity in the UI

Currently not. However, I'll always consider improving the transient detection and separation in the future. If that means going spectral, then I likely will
But that'll have to be for a future version of the plugin for sure.

Would be a good move, I think.timeoffaudio wrote: Thu Nov 07, 2024 1:56 pm However, I'll always consider improving the transient detection and separation in the future. If that means going spectral, then I likely will

Melda's crossovers have sliders for Level Slope, Transient Release, Transient resolution, Smoothing and couple other things.
Really helps to narrow down where you want the split to happen, and lets you use it much more creatively.
Having that in a VST chainer like this would be something special, for sure
