"Ten years have passed and today we are back with a brand new Dynebolic 4.0* based on Devuan 5 Daedalus, live-boot and the Linux kernel 6.8 series.

We introduce a new user experience organized as different journeys into creativity*, that we call workflows. Our desktop adopts KDE 5 Plasma and its 'Activities' to provide pre-sets for five specific workflows:

Graphics
Publishing

Those who remember how dynebolic was already 20 years ago recall well that we are not just working on a wonderful distribution to introduce people to the Free Software Movement and its original values, but we also facilitate a community of creatives that help each other to make this distribution better. You are very welcome to join us in the online channels and give use feedback: this release is BETA, because we need your help...

While you may already be able to produce work in most workflows with this beta release, expect bugs...

Audio production*

This part still needs a lot of love; proper audio routing still needs to be configured. For this, we are currently experimenting with PipeWire*, but you are more than welcome to join us in the quest for the optimal interoperable configuration. Dynebolic emphasizes reuse: it is of utmost importance that the final state be compatible with as many devices as possible, including older sound-devices.
