Anyone tried it yet? I am at work so I can’t check it out for now.
Almost seems like an April Fools joke..

“It is written in native C++ code, but since it is broken, it is useless – even on "top-notch" systems.”

Yeah, it does function but if you try the noise oscillator it picks up radio broadcasts! (just brief samples, it would be cool if it actually pulled in live radio).

I do wonder if there will ever be an unbroken version. You can use all three oscs and it sounds fine though.

Post

I just tried it out. It sounds pretty good, except the noise part of it.
The oversampling setting is basically for nothing, not sure why that was even added. 1X is the highest setting..

Maybe those things will be changed in an update?

There are several things in this gui for jokes. Not only the oversampling and the noise.
Just look at the tool tips above the keyboard

In before KVR users treat this as a serious release, and get upset that FullBucket has "fallen from grace" :hihi:

(I think FullBucket released this from a joke post someone made about how there needs to be "yet another" Minimoog emulation)

What's the word on Full Bucket? Lots of free synths and FX on the site.... are they truly free?

Any gems in their mass of offerings? Or anything truly unique?

Post

Sounds nice actually but it seems to break frequently and need the fuse changed

New Linux Distribution Called, 'It Just Works' (IJW-- no recursive acronym, at least yet.)

What might be great is if they tried thier hands at developing a good additive synth with at least 1024 partials that wasn't either discontinued, abandoned, neglected or enclosed in some kind of Russian matryoshka doll, like a DAW or framework, like Reaktor or Rack Extension. I should have a word with Claude or ChatGPT soon.

Just yesterday, I had Parsec2 running in Reason Rack Extension running in Ardour (DAW) running in MS Windows 11 running in Virtualbox running in Linux Mint. The latency was terrible and, among other problems, I yanked the whole setup and am now probably going to go back to Ubuntu Studio or AV Linux, and probably yet more problems, like a Surge XT that doesn't want to scale under Ardour in Linux Mint. It scales fine as a standalone.

They should have a new OS or Linux distribution called 'It Just Works', with most of the distrubutions' devs volunteering their time on it. Too many distrubutions seem to be spreading the talent a little thin. Do they want to be competitive with Apple or Microsoft or do they just want to nerd-out? People like me don't want to be 'Linux gurus', or RTFM all day; we want the OS to be transparent like glass so that we almost feel as though it's barely there. Get it?

...Anyone rememeber pure:dyne? I had it ages ago on a USB key. But they disappeared. But, I recently found out that their apparent 'relative', dyne:bolic, appear to be back and offering a Version 4 beta...

And I've been feeling a little masochistic lately...

...So an April Foolsy kind of synth in November ay? Why not... So how is it? Sounds ok, ya?...

Unfortunately this has been the case with Linux for decades now. Would be great if a bunch of developers got together to fix it

This thing is a hoot.

The version number is a joke as well. 0-8-15.
