I recall Cubase 12 allowed undo for plugin parameters, then they removed it in Cubase 13. Is there a way to easily undo plugin parameter changes in Cubase 14?

Alt + Z

Cubase has basic "plugin undo" like Ableton. Really it comes down to if you make an adjustment would it change on an automation track? If yes you can use the mixer undo (Alt + Z) to undo it. For certain changes, like say changing the oscillator wave table in Serum, since this can not be automated the mixer undo will not work and you would have the use the plugin undo if it has one.

Edit: I'm wrong it does work with insert effect plugins but not instruments for some reason.

That was actually a bug in Cubase 12 that was fixed in C13. You weren't supposed to be able to undo VST parameters in Cubase 12.

again maybe im using wrong settings but when i press option z (im on mac so not alt z for mixer undo) it isnt working for serums cutoff for example but it works with some other plugins. i have no issue automating serums synth section filter cutoff in cubase so i dont think it is exactly how you say rageix or my settings are wrong.

I just jumped into Cubase 13 to try it out and yeah looks like you are right. It does not seem to work for instruments for whatever reason. I tried Serum and Vital and neither works that way. It does work for plugin inserts though. For example I can put Pro-C2 as an insert, change the ratio and mixer undo will revert the changes. Strange it doesn't work for instruments.

Bitwig had this. It's interesting to see latest Cubase leaning on so many Bitwig innovations.

Did both of you completely miss my post right above yours? A developer 2 years ago on Steinberg's own forums flat out said it was a BUG in Cubase 12. If you are able to still undo some parameters, it means they didnt 'fix it' completely.

OK I'm not sure what some developer comment from 2 years ago is suppose to prove. That it's NOT suppose to be that way? Cool, well it is that way and has been for years.

It's possible the dev was wrong or they reversed course on it or any other number of things have happened that keep it in the program.
