2024: A Year in Gear (What You've Bought or Want to Buy in 2024)

Syncussion is fun, great live tool because of the panel space, limited modulation and, of course, terrible because of all the panel space. I've found that I am willing to large for things that are meant to be tweaked live, and prefer small for things that will be carefully set and then left alone.

I thought that I would never get one of these, but Amazon had them for $38 so I grabbed one to see how bad and useless they really were. Maybe they're bad enough to be a so bad it's good effect, I don't know. I do know that I often want some effects just for one part in line and so some of my other effects feel some heat over that, so whatever. Report incoming.

I know what you mean. I got the Michigan synth works SY.5 because it's smaller and it can go from bleeps and bloops to great drum sounds in a hair.
I love it already, really considered the new one from Behringer, but I am focused on the rack ATM. It will be right next to the Euclidean Circles coming tomorrow.

The guy that makes them is in Australia. Prices are reasonable but shipping is about the same as the plate. I usually buy multiple plates in one shot. I still want to order the Blue Box one but don’t need anything else yet.

***Edit: Also good to know that Pam’s is f**king horrible to switch plates. It requires patience because they use custom nuts, that requires a custom too, or you can a small adjustable wrench, but make to either put some electrical tape at the edges, or use a strong cloth in between so you scratch the OG plate.

Plus there’s concern for the leds that can easily be knocked off. I didn’t mess those up, but it’s good to keep in mind. I’ve replaced all the nuts with the regular ones but if I ever decide to sell it, I’ll put the original ones back on.

Just ordered a home made case from a guy on Reverb. 12u, 126hp per row, vertical standing case with a whopping 5A PSU.

I think with that and another couple of cases I have I may finally be able to set up a permanent modular area rather than constantly having to cart everything around each time I feel like playing with it.
