SOUNDBOX doesn't seem to get much love around here but with their recently released free library, I was tempted to give it a go and I'm quite impressed with what I've heard so far. I've only been playing with the presets and I've already come up with a couple of really good rhythmic sequences that we will definitely use on our next album somewhere. So this morning I bought the Kromium strings library and I am really keen to start playing with that when I get home from work tonight.

Does anyone have any experiences with the free Soundbox Player? It seems pretty decent to me and the libraries are bloody cheap for the quality I've heard so far.

Here is a quick demo I made in a couple of hours last night. There are four instances of Soundbox. Two are using presets from the new free soundset and two are using Kromium. I have done virtually no mixing, beyond having to turn the pad sound up so it can be heard. That said, it does have my usual mastering chain of FireCobra and STA Enhancer into a brickwall limiter.

That's interesting because when I posted a sampler-related thread in Instruments a few years ago, it got moved here in short order.
