I think there’s never been a demo version before?
But it would be a nice surprise if they would provide a demo to try now :)

I wish the “Value 10” package allowed customers to select their own choice of 10 expansions rather than it be only the 10 latest expansions. This makes the “Value10” package pointless for me. I’m sure there are plenty others too.
They do a “Pick 5” deal for Avenger.

Create your own routings. Build your own expansions.
I've never had any reason to try or even buy Nexus, as it was always locked for sound designers and more focused on preset-based sounds rather than offering serious options for sound design. But this sounds interesting! Does it include any kind of resynthesis, similar in quality to Myth or Halion? How about granular or spectral synthesis? And is there a randomization engine that allows for locking individual parameters?

If not, it won´t ever make it to my workstation but I'm curious to hear more about what options we have for working with our own samples.
Its over for Bitwig--CUBASE WON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

definitely would be great, i dont see Nexus as a synth but i still dont understand why they didnt add a rondomization option yet, as a sample/workstation this would be fun and great to get new sound combos.

Now this looks interesting

Interesting indeed. ...but why all of the sudden?

What's the value proposition in this compared to buying something like Icarus or Pigments? A minimum spend of £233 and a large install seems like a lot.

Up to when I used Nexus (3)... very very low cpu usage and tons of presets..

msvs wrote: Mon Nov 11, 2024 10:50 pm as posted already above... the biggest gamchanger is this: its now 100% open architecture! You have the same possibilities now as we sound designers had. Means, you can change every preset, create new from scratch, you can open and use all samples from old libraries and XPs. There are tons more improvements, which will be posted soon.
Now will it be intuitive to use after ‘tacking’ on this functionality instead of re-designing from the ground up with all that functionality in mind?

Post

I imagine that part has always been there just only now available commercially so it isn't' a tack on.

Sounds awesome. +1 for some kind of randomisation feature for sound creation sources!

What would Nexus 5 bring to someone who owns VPS Avenger 2? Different sample content or a wider range of samples? Will Nexus 5 be a more capable synth than Avenger? More features, functions, sound design depth, etc?

I like ReFx's Vanguard 2 a lot so would be interested in the new Nexus but the price tag even at the entry level is probably not something I could justify unless it's going to bring a lot more to the table than Avenger.

There is actually a synth underneath nexus. I never realised this years ago assuming it was all samples. With one of the recent updates they revealed the layers and it turns out most patches were made of samples and internal synth engine

Liking the nostalgia mode. We can party like it's 2005 👌🤣
