Insert an Audio Inverter. It's in the Audio Processors group.

this doesn't work ; i only get a little extra crackle (like a record)
when one audios stream is phase shifted to another they should cancel each other so i should hear nothing, with two identical samples/streams
(i also get 'nothing to edit' when i double clock the audio inverter plugin in a rack desk, or the little upright arrow next to it)

If you invert the polarity of a piece of audio it should perfectly cancel another copy of the original audio which was not inverted, assuming they are being played at the same volume level at the same time.

Polarity can be inverted, which is accomplished by flipping the waveform upside down. This means that if the original signal had a level of 0.5, the inverted signal will be -0.5, and if the original had a level of -0.75, the inverted signal will be 0.75 - the exact opposite, so they sum to zero.

Phase cannot be inverted. Phase is an aspect of timing - shifting the phase of a sample can be accomplished by moving it left or right on the audio track it is located on or by triggering it earlier or later. Changing the timing may not result in complete cancellation - for that to work the timing must be perfectly matched, which a phase shift can prevent.

I do see that the screenshot you posted shows a typical error of mislabeling the control (probably why they put it in quotes as they likely recognized that people often get that wrong and were providing it for easier recognition in spite of that).

The Audio Inverter works fine here.

Feel free to post a little project that demonstrates the issue you encounter.
Please make such project as minimal as possible, preferably no plugins, no samples.

Indeed, there is nothing to edit about an Audio Inverter.
It simply inverts the polarity of the audio signal.

sorry for the misconception on my side - i meant (to change) polarity
apparently you could do that with the audio inverter
i have 1 (identical) sample on 2 tracks of which one has an audio inverter plugin in the rack
so both should cancel each other out (that is what i try to accomplish)
but i'm hearing both
here's a link to a project as an example:

In your project (where you forgot to include the samples, but i selected some other sample, which was ok for this case) the top track clip starts at sample 898, the bottom audio clip starts at sample 0, so they're 898 samples time-shifted. That explains it. If you double click the top audio clip and set the start marker to 0, then you'll hear silence as expected as the two clips are muting each other due to the inversion.

tiens, i did use export consolidated project (to a new folder) and uploaded that folder to DB:
-the sample in question is in the audio folder

i now see where my fault was, thanks all

just a quick question , how to set the (top) ruler to display samples instead of time (in the audio editor) ?

My mistake, i missed that audio folder, sorry.

No such option yet, it's on the wishlist.
