This turns out to be a nice EQ. I bought it with a F29 voucher. Seems like a nice addition to the HG line of plugins. I know "yet another EQ" but it has a nice sound and some unique curve control. Also convincing saturation. I'll post more when I've worked with it more... would like to hear your thoughts...

So, it's almost 2025, we're still doing analog emulations?

I bought pro-q and try to keep it at that and DAW host eq, so not even trying it.

I don’t really see the point of this as they already have 2 saturation plugins so if people like this for the saturation why not just use one of those and leave the EQing to something more capable?

Its not a distortion tool, it's an EQ. It's a different product than the other PA HG plugins.
Funny how people review audio products now by glancing at the GUI pictures and forming a final opinion. Seems like many have plugin burnout, which isn't surprising.

So, it's almost 2025, and people are still complaining about plugins they have neither used nor have any intention on buying.musicproducerdee wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2024 1:51 am So, it's almost 2025, we're still doing analog emulations?

He asked for thoughts on yet another Eq. My thoughts on it are - I've neither used nor have any intention of buying it. TBH I won't bother using it because I can generally not hear any difference in most Eqs out there. Call me a heathen, but Eq is Eq is Eq . There are differences but so infinitessimally small that it makes no difference whatsoever in a mix IMO. That's been my experience for 35 years. I've got better things to waste my money on having 76 different variations of the same thing.

This is an amazing EQ, a 5db boost at 2786hz on acoustic guitar sounds so sweet. So much vibe and depth. None of my other 143 EQs can do this.

Always that one person trying to justify yet another plugin that does nothing different than 100 other plugins, let alone 100 other plugins from the same developer/alliance
Ps: I know you were being sarcastic

Usually in a market flooded with so many niche "flavor - of a flavor - of a flavor" products, the prices are in a range that can justify hoarding different flavors just for the sake of trying new aromas of the same thing. This one, with a $250 full price tag, lives clearly in a parallel world, or maybe targeted towards customers who judge with their wallet in the opposite sense - "if I pay this much, it better be good and fix my mixes". But for sure many people love some analog-looking GUI, otherwise soundtoys would not be that popular . And not having so many options as Pro-Q also helps, as people are easily scared by anything even remotely looking advanced.
This is, after all, a world in which grammy awarded engineers make claims that a daw sounds better than others, knowing that there are people out there buying this claim. In 2024.

I didn't demo it, but I like the idea. It could be very useful as a fast sound shaping tool. Not too flexible, but still powerful enough for most tasks - cutting three frequencies is enough, as is boosting three others frequencies with optional saturation on each one. And M/S and visualization. If it sounds good and has a good workflow, than I would use it. But I also generally like using channel strips instead of using several different plugins, because of faster workflow.
